After The Riot: Reflections On Jan. 6 From Those Inside The Capitol
QuoteIn the 100 days since the January 6 attack on the Capitol, NBC News’ Frank Thorp conducted interviews and snapped breathtaking portraits of those in the building - from powerful lawmakers like Nancy Pelosi and Mitt Romney, to congressional staffers, to Capitol police officers and food service workers. We see how those who experienced the insurrection are processing the trauma, and how they hope it serves as a lesson for the country.

I sure hope this judge takes his lawsuit to trial.
Pence made these comments today at the Hillsborough County New Hampshire Republican Committee’s annual Lincoln-Reagan Awards Dinner.

...Pence called it a “dark day in the history of the United States” and thanked the U.S. Capitol Police and other law enforcement for quelling the violence. He didn’t mention the insurrection in his first post-vice-presidency speech, in South Carolina in April.
“And that same day, we reconvened the Congress and did our duty under the Constitution and the laws of the United States,”...
...“You know, President Trump and I have spoken many times since we left office. And I don’t know if we’ll ever see eye to eye on that day, but I will always be proud of what we accomplished for the American people over the last four years.”
He then accused Democrats of using the Capitol riot to divide the country and distract Americans from the Biden administration’s agenda.
“We must move forward,” Pence said.

Interesting, but nothing to enlightening. Certainly puts a wet blanket on those who continue to parrot cries of insurrection.

A wet blanket?
Parroting?
Independence day is an odd day to further demonstrate that you don't care about threats to your constitution or republic as much as you care about partisan political nonsense. The editorial board of Saint Loius Today disagrees with you and congressional republicans on this matter.
QuoteIt was exposed by the 147 Republican members of Congress (led by Missouri’s own Sen. Josh Hawley) who, having just witnessed firsthand the violence that Trump’s big vote-fraud lie had visited upon the seat of government, further promoted that lie, voting to overturn a valid election based on nothing but their supporters’ disdain for the outcome. It was exposed in most congressional Republicans’ failure to hold Trump accountable for what was arguably the most impeachable thing any sitting president has ever done. It was exposed in the GOP’s refusal to allow a full investigation of the insurrection, for fear it would reflect badly on their party.
Quotethe vote. This is the biggest lie of all. Countless election officials and dozens of judges of both parties have looked more closely than in any election in modern memory, and have found zero evidence of the widespread voter fraud that Trump falsely claims robbed him of the presidency. There is, therefore, also no validity to the coordinated voter-suppression campaigns sweeping red-state America, predicated on that phony allegation.
It isn’t just public faith in elections being undermined here. In a February poll by the American Enterprise Institute, 39% of Republican respondents agreed that “if elected leaders will not protect America, the people must do it themselves, even if it requires violent actions.”
