Davenport University Acceptance Letters for Fall 2008

I was just wondering how long it takes to get an acceptance/rejection letter from Davenport University, Warren Michigan campus. The deadline was May 16th. What should I expect?:D

no letter today!!!:o I wish I knew if they all went out or if there was some type of pattern. I mean maybe I am just at the bottom of the list. Which is fine with me as long as I got it, right??:p If anyone knows how it works or how long the acceptance letters actually go out. Or if i should give up they were all sent out! lol:sniff: I have to decide what to do next. Davenport is too expensive to take more classes that I don't need and MAYBE get in next year. Thanks for all your support

No letter today!!! I am just going to move on with my job applications and persue other avenues, and when I get the letter (which I am guessing will be a denial) I will let you know.

I don't want to keep waiting for bad news, I am pretty sure if I got in I would have heard by now.:crying2::crying2::banghead::banghead::confused::confused:

no letter here yet either!! I talked to my advisor. He told me that all the acceptance letters haven't gone out yet, but I don't know how true that is. He did tell me that one set of denials went out at the beginning of the month and that denials were being sent out with the acceptances.....so like we said before, who knows what is really true. He told me to hold on. They were told to give it until the second week of July for the letters to be out. He said if I didn't hear anything by the second week of July to go ahead and start registering. I told him that I would be applying to Macomb in February and then Davenport again in the spring and then go from there. He said if you haven't gotten a denial, then you are still in the game. My logical side is telling me "don't be stupid move on already" but the more persuasive side is telling me "there is still hope, you haven't been denied" I am in the same boat. I have been looking for a job, but can't find one.....have loans.....3 kids.....etc:eek: I told him the same thing you said, if I haven't heard by now, it's a denial, but he said the acceptances go out in waves, ........guess we will see. I will keep you posted as well. Looks like we made it through 2 rounds of denials.....maybe we are alternates??? If we are, he said we could hear something in August. You had a better GPA than me...you had a 3.5 right? I can't remember what you said about your HESI. I have a 3.2 and a 78 on the HESI. I can just hope the bar wasn't set too high!! lol

Well that could be good news, Thanks!!

Yes I have a 3.5 GPA and a 79.8 (80) on my Hesi. I am proud of that!!

I guess we will be frantically waiting together.

Hi RN 4 Life,

We have to have the 150.00 at Davenport by July 7th to reserve the seat. I would imagine there are people that have had things change in their life and won't be attending and that will open up more seats. It's still very aggrivating not knowing. So far I know 5 people that got their letter on Monday. I am still praying......

Dream2be

Were all of those 5 acceptance letters? Were they all sent certified mail that you know of? I wonder too if they were for the LPN or RN program.

Dream,

Thanks for the info. I guess if we don't get denials, then we just wait. I guess nothing is better than a denial. Thanks for the prayers!!!

Yes, the letters were acceptance letters for the LPN program. Funny how my advisor told me they were being sent certified this year and it wasn't. It was in a large white envelope that said "Davenport Welcomes You" on the front. I heard that at least 10 people usually do not send in their money due to something changing in their life. At this point, I think your advisors should tell you what is going on, it's just not fair to deal with the anxiety of not knowing and trying to figure out what to do as far as work at the same time. You really can't work while in the program because it's Monday thru Thursday full time. I'm giving that part to God to help me figure out what I will do financially.

I agree about the advisors telling us what's going on. I feel like I am bothering him and that he thinks I am being pushy. I feel like I can't get all the answers. I think that people that are alternates should get a letter saying so. I don't think it's fair that some people don't get a letter. He told me even alternates will get a letter....eventually. But that isn't right. 10 people is a lot that don't turn in their stuff!! Like I said before, God knows what He is doing. The anxiety over here is just crazy. Like you said, I have to make a financial decision. I don't won't be going back to school if I don't get in, which means, I have to work, but I don't want to find a good job now and have to quit, ya know? I have 3 kids and a nice mortgage! lol I understand that if I get in, I can't work, but if I knew there was a light at the end of the tunnel, I could suffer for one more year. Cuz I could work as an LPN next year if I had or wanted to just to bring in money. Well let me know if your advisor says anything about all the letters being out or anything. In her defense, I don't think the advisors were informed enough.

Did anyone else get a personal announcement from SNO on their DU page under personal announcements? I have a SNO (student nurse organization) message about seeing their booth during orientation in August. I didn't know if it was on everyones page, everyone that applied, or what. So far, I still haven't received any type of letter.

I got the same SNO too, don't know if everyone did. NO letter yet, but mail doesn't come till after 3:00pm

I got my mail already.....nothing:bluecry1: I have come to terms with it now, I think. If they have to pay by July 7th, that's only a week and a half away. Did you see the comment from dream2be about at least 10 people won't respond? I hope we fall in there somewhere!! :chuckle I will keep you posted.
