this is the same thing that happened last year! I don't know why it is so hard to get the facts straight, ya know??? Now I heard that they were mailed out today! Who knows!! I can't believe that they would wait a couple more weeks, we still have to do physicals and orientation by whenever classes start in august!

I was told that letters were mailed out yesterday!! Guess we should hear tomorrow or friday! Good luck to us all!!

Thanks Suns Up!! I can't believe how different everything is this year....I triple checked everything this year!! I am not betting on getting in because I am trying to be real...I am actually attending University of Phoenix getting my Bachelor's in Psychology for my back up plan. I will graduate next October with that. I figure if I want to go back to be an RN, I can take accelerated classes once I have the Bachelor's. I wish the best of luck to you. And everyone that steered me wrong last year has supposedly been terminated and that is the reason for some of the changes this year!! Hopefully it helped a lot of people! I know this year they sent out letters if you applied but weren't eligible. They didn't do that before and people were getting denied and didn't know why and just kept re-applying. One girl I know applied 3 years in a row and kept getting denied...because of those new letters this year, she found out she needed more classes!! That should have been brought to her attention 3 years ago by her counselor!!!! Now she has to take more classes and waited 3 years!! Well good luck to you....let us know when you hear something!!

UGH!!! still nothing!! This is torture!!!

Ya wanna hear some crap? I don't know if you remember me asking about the application process before. But I had a feeling that my advisor was having me fill out the wrong papers. Well, I never got any type of letter. I found out that I never applied to the program!!! I did the HESI, the essay and letters of rec. I filled out an application online that he told me to fill out and it was the wrong one!! I called from June til August asking the status of my letter and they kept telling me it was in the mail!! I am in the middle of trying to get some money back from them now. I since switched to Macomb and will apply in February. Thinking about going into physical therapy. I spent everything I had going to Davenport and sweat and cried over the HESI and essay and all my classes to not even get acknowledged! Pretty crappy, huh? Well hang in there! I wish I was in it with you to help you!!

anyone go to orientation for Davenport? I still have not gotten a letter. Guess I am an alternate??? Was wondering what the turn out was or any rumors of someone not being able to attend.....lol This is very frustrating!! Just put me out of my misery already!!

August 22nd? My friend had to pay by July 7th. That doesn't leave much time before the semester starts. I don't see why they would give that much time to pay since the acceptance letters went out in June. Thanks for your response.

STILL WAITING!!!! Nobody seems to have an answer to why I have not heard anything!! I was told that maybe I am an alternate:eek: I am getting really frustrated!!! If anyone knows how this alternate thing works please let me know!!!

I know that another girl on here got a denial letter a couple weeks ago as well. I called and talked to someone today and she said that she thinks I am an alternate, too. She said hopefully I will hear something within the next week or two. She said nobody is really telling the counselors much information. I will let you know if I hear anything. I hope it doesn't take all the way until like the end of August.....don't think I can handle that. I have just put myself in the belief that I didn't get in and it will be a nice surprise if I do. I have already enrolled in classes at Macomb just in case. Thanks for the good feelings......keep 'em coming!!

I still haven't heard anything yet. They said I should have heard something by last week. Maybe this week......does anyone know what the heck is going on? I have been waiting for over two months now! Put me out of my misery already!!

I am sooooo sorry to hear that. :crying2:I haven't heard anything yet. I assume my denial letter will be coming by the end of the week then. I don't get it. You have a 3.5 right? I only have a 3.16 so I should be getting a denial. I know that there were 800 applicants. I know what you mean about no money for school. Fortunately I do get financial aid. That didn't cover everything at Davenport so I had to take loans out, but now I transferred to Macomb and aid will cover everything. I wish I understood how the selection goes, cuz I just don't think it goes as fairly as we think. Best of luck to you. I will keep you posted. Have you thought about Macomb or OCC? I don't know where you live, but I also heard that Wayne Community College takes everyone as well as U of D. Can you get financial aid? I have to give it one more shot, since this was my first time. I haven't heard anything either. I called yesterday and they said denials and more acceptances going out now. But one person said that acceptances letters were going out in august. those would be the "alternates" so I guess according to her, not everyone responded to the acceptance letters. I have moved on. I don't have a job, but I may qualify for that unemployment extension....waiting on the mail for that now! I am beginning to hate the mail! lol I registered at Macomb community college. I will apply to their nursing program in February, Davenport again in May and then I am also applying to some other programs at Macomb. I really want to be a nurse, but my bills are just piling up while I am waiting. I have 3 kids to support. I can't wait any longer. If it comes, it comes.

Livonia is a hike for me with gas and all. I live in Warren. Like bezlee said, it's hard to get into a hospital unless you know someone. I did used to work at beaumont, and quit as well. I was actually working there unitl I graduated from OCC with a degree in Early Childhood. I was going to go on to be a teacher, but after working in the hospital, I wanted to be a nurse. I applied at a hallmark, too!! That is so funny! We are starting to feel the stress around here. My hubby has been working 7 days a week to support me and our 3 kids!! We are about ready to kill each other, cuz he never gets a day off work and I never get a day off from the kids!! I am going to check into Macomb and Wayne State. I already have a degree, so hoping maybe I can get into Wayne's program they have for people who already have degrees.....another long shot, but I have to try!!

I have been trying to find a job too! I cannot find one to save my life! Do you live in the Warren area? What kind of jobs have you been looking into? I am pretty much looking for anything. I am moving on too. I have to, or I will go insane!! I am really glad I was able to talk to you this whole time. Too bad we can't meet up for a beer!! I could use one!! Let me know if you find any hopeful jobs.....I am still looking...I know some of the hospitals are, but I can't seem to get an interview, I don't know anyone that works there to get me in the door!! I have looked into some home health care places, but you have to drive all over the place, and I just don't have the best vehicle for that, not to mention gas and being an hour away from my kids!! Keep in touch no matter what! I am still praying for the both of us!!:bowingpur

It's now the last day of June, I haven't gotten anything!! I heard I must be in that bunch that won't get a letter until they make sure everyone turns in their stuff for the acceptances. I was told now to wait until the second week of July!! I still think everyone should get a letter, no matter what. Even if you are an "alternate". Beezlee...have you heard anything?? This is worse torture!! Now I get my hopes up again, to possibly still get denied and it was just a longer wait then everyone else!! Does anyone know of people getting denials?? I was told that 2 sets of denials went out.......Guess I will just keep waiting:plsebeg:
