Davenport University Acceptance Letters for Fall 2008

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I was just wondering how long it takes to get an acceptance/rejection letter from Davenport University, Warren Michigan campus. The deadline was May 16th. What should I expect?:D

Specializes in NA.

I am wondering your "stats" for Davenport and who got in or not. For example:

Hesi 82, gpa 3.6, accepted.

Thanks!

I am sooooo sorry to hear that. :crying2:I haven't heard anything yet. I assume my denial letter will be coming by the end of the week then. I don't get it. You have a 3.5 right? I only have a 3.16 so I should be getting a denial. I know that there were 800 applicants. I know what you mean about no money for school. Fortunately I do get financial aid. That didn't cover everything at Davenport so I had to take loans out, but now I transferred to Macomb and aid will cover everything. I wish I understood how the selection goes, cuz I just don't think it goes as fairly as we think. Best of luck to you. I will keep you posted. Have you thought about Macomb or OCC? I don't know where you live, but I also heard that Wayne Community College takes everyone as well as U of D. Can you get financial aid? I have to give it one more shot, since this was my first time. After that, I have to move on as well. I really do wish the best of luck to you!!!:heartbeat

I still haven't heard anything yet. They said I should have heard something by last week. Maybe this week......does anyone know what the heck is going on? I have been waiting for over two months now! Put me out of my misery already!!

RN4Life,

I would think you are an alternate. My other friend got her denial letter a couple of weeks ago. Right now we are being given a chance to choose what schedule we would ultimately want. We meet on August 12th to see if we were given our first choice. I bet at that time there may be people that cannot due a certain shift and have to drop out....I have a good feeling for you....if you have any questions on the timeline we have, just ask...

I know that another girl on here got a denial letter a couple weeks ago as well. I called and talked to someone today and she said that she thinks I am an alternate, too. She said hopefully I will hear something within the next week or two. She said nobody is really telling the counselors much information. I will let you know if I hear anything. I hope it doesn't take all the way until like the end of August.....don't think I can handle that. I have just put myself in the belief that I didn't get in and it will be a nice surprise if I do. I have already enrolled in classes at Macomb just in case. Thanks for the good feelings......keep 'em coming!! :saint:

STILL WAITING!!!!:banghead: Nobody seems to have an answer to why I have not heard anything!! I was told that maybe I am an alternate:eek: I am getting really frustrated!!!:yawn::banghead::confused: If anyone knows how this alternate thing works please let me know!!!

students have until AUG 22 to pay, if they don't then they go to the alternate list until they find someone to take the spot and pay their money. hope this answers your question

August 22nd? My friend had to pay by July 7th. That doesn't leave much time before the semester starts. I don't see why they would give that much time to pay since the acceptance letters went out in June. Thanks for your response.

anyone go to orientation for Davenport? I still have not gotten a letter. Guess I am an alternate??? Was wondering what the turn out was or any rumors of someone not being able to attend.....lol This is very frustrating!!:banghead: Just put me out of my misery already!!:eek:

RN4LIFE,

How are you doing? I was thinking about you the other day and wondered if you got into the program. I never ever imagined nursing school to be this difficult. My GPA is shot to heck. I pray everyday to keep my eye on the big picture, because most of the time I want to throw in the towel.

Ya wanna hear some crap? I don't know if you remember me asking about the application process before. But I had a feeling that my advisor was having me fill out the wrong papers. Well, I never got any type of letter. I found out that I never applied to the program!!! I did the HESI, the essay and letters of rec. I filled out an application online that he told me to fill out and it was the wrong one!! I called from June til August asking the status of my letter and they kept telling me it was in the mail!! I am in the middle of trying to get some money back from them now. I since switched to Macomb and will apply in February. Thinking about going into physical therapy. I spent everything I had going to Davenport and sweat and cried over the HESI and essay and all my classes to not even get acknowledged! Pretty crappy, huh? Well hang in there! I wish I was in it with you to help you!!

That seems to be the problem with DU, I know of a few people who did not graduate in spring/summer because they still had a class to take that they were told they did not need to take.
