Darton College Anyone?

Hello! I am applying to darton nursing program in albany ga. Can anyone tell me what their average is on the HESI exam and what is the lowest GPA they have taken. Thanks.

Just jumping in here, but I heard (from staff in the department) that for the online program the lowest that they'd let in was a 2.8. I'm not sure what program you're applying for, but at most schools during each round of admissions, tend to let a few people in with the minimum gpa, because if they didn't then they wouldn't be able to say that it's the minimum gpa for acceptance. As long as your entrance score is pretty good, then you should be fine. I'll keep my fingers crossed and a prayer in the sky for you. I wish you the best and I hope this helps!:)

Thank You sooo much because I so need it! MY overall gpa is not good, but my program gpa is a 3.0! I made a few mistakes and Im sooo paying for them now but all of my grades for the program are just fine! I am applying for the Albany track program for the summer 2011, so I am really praying that I get in, so I am ready to study hard for the Hesi Exam:) I cant remeber if I saw your post on here, but have you taken the HESI Exam yet??? If so, how is it and are there any tips you can give me on how to study for it??? Also, I keep hearing that they only look at the grades you need for the program... is that true because I have beenso curious!

No problem! I have taken the HESI and I would study your a&p make sure that you are comfortable with that and not nervous because it shows...The rest of the exam is right out of the study guide. I'm actually applying for the Hybrid program for this spring and I'm waiting on my letter of acceptance or denial. My overall score on the HESI was a 84.73 with my anatomy being a 72...I'm not too thrilled about that, but I haven't come this far for no reason and neither have you.:hug:

Thank you so much for the advice! Anything helps:) Where can I get the study guide because I want to start studying now before I dont have enough time!!! And I will definately have to refesh my memory on the AandP stuff! And yes, I have came too far to give up now and it never hurts to try and see what happens because my gpa does not reflect who I am as a worker and I hope they see that with the HESI Exam (hopefully) and also with the program requirement grades! I was also looking onto one other chat, and i saw two people who applied to Darton said that Darton basically started over the gpa (like a 0.00) and started from there... has that happened to you possibly, or anyone else you may know of?? Anywhoo... Good luck on your journey and Ill be praying for you because I know one day soon Ill be wanting someones prayers! GOOD LUCK:)

John, when I transferred from Albany State, Darton automatically reset my gpa at zero. It shows my letter grades with a T for transfer on my unofficial Darton transcript, but they will accept grades that are transferred from another school that are needed for the program.

Yolanda, as you saw on my post, my gpa is not the best in the world, so could it possibly help boost up the gpa??? Do they transfer all the grades or just the ones that are needed for the program???? If they just transfer the ones that are required, I will be just fine because I will have a 3.0 average then.....! Thanks for the response!!!

They only transfer over the grades needed to graduate form Darton nursing. I graduated with 132 hours, and only 58 hours transferred over. They only look at grades needed for the program.

I went to Georgia Perimeter College for like 6 years, I couldn't even get financial aid there because I had withdrawn so much in the past and I always paid for classes out of pocket. When I came to darton I started my gpa from scratch and now it's like a 3.57. I've worked really hard for that too! LOL!!! I ordered my study guide from the bookstore with my financial aid. I still use it from time to time just brushing up on conversions and stuff. If you google evolve it's like the first website to come up and you can buy the guide there it's like 35 dollars or so. You'll do fine and the earlier you start to study the better. Good luck to you as well love and I know I'll be seeing you soon at Darton in the Nursing program. :)

When I came to darton I started my gpa from scratch and now it's like a 3.57. I've worked really hard for that too! LOL!!! I ordered my study guide from the bookstore with my financial aid. I still use it from time to time just brushing up on conversions and stuff. If you google evolve it's like the first website to come up and you can buy the guide there it's like 35 dollars or so. No problem! Darton College really has become my blessing over this last year. I've really been doing well and can finally see the light at the end of my tunnel. I felt the same way about this site when I found it, like I just needed reassurance that this is something that I can achieve. I'm glad that you're finding your way too!!!! Thanks for the best wishes! I really appreciate those! I'm actually done with all of my pre-reqs with the exception of medical terminology, but I'll be done with that this semester. I've done both of those I did well in probably because I had awesome professors. I'm excited. I think that at this point in my life I'm ready to do it and be an RN. I wish you the best of luck! How much more do you have to go before graduation?

O i TOTALLY forgot to ask about the Medical Terminology class! Im the University of West Goergia right now and they do not teach this class here, but I saw that I needed this to apply for the program.. I plan to take it next semester at West Georgia Tech if I can take it as a transient student. Can I still apply and not have taken it yet????
