Just wondering if anyone knows what the starting rate is for a new grad in the Dallas/Fort Worth area..... any other comments are appreciated.

I'm seriously thinking of relocating from Virginia Beach. I love this area but it's getting too expensive.

I have heard that it is around $19.00-20.00 per hour. I don't work in a hospital so I cannot tell you more than that.

I've been told this is the lowest paying hopsital in DFW. I'm not sure if that is true, but they are a good representation of avergage HOSPITAL wages in the Metroplex.

I think you can expect about 19-21.00/hr at most of the bigger hospitals like Baylor, Methodist, Medical City Dallas, Harris Ft.Worth, etc. Good luck ! The cost of living is lower, but we are pretty concrete and land locked.

but I think that the starting rate at Parkland now is closer to $20.40...they just did a market adjustment (the second since I've been there) and it made for a pretty nice chunk of change.

Even though I work at Parkland, I live 35 miles away to the east, have some acreage, smaller town, etc.,....so not everything is concrete. Come on down!

New-grad RNs start at $19.00 to $21.00 at the large hospitals, and $22 to $23 at nursing homes and other long-term care facilities. New LVNs start at $16 to $17 at hospitals, and $18 to $20 at nursing homes.

I am an LVN who recently moved to Texas from California. I think you will grow to like this place.
