Hey everyone! would just like to see or hear from those waiting for the October board. its only a couple months away and im praying for good numbers! im supposed to be going for the interview pretty soon. any advice or tips? thanks!

I was told at my eye exam that I have Keratoconus. After further research, I have discovered that it is currently a medical disqualification ineligible for a waiver. I am pretty bummed, but everything happens for a reason. Good luck to everyone, you are all doing a great service for your country!

Hey everyone!! Anybody have any updates? :bookworm:

I got a request for more information, but it wasn't anything major. They just wanted a copy of my release from IRR.

Have they submitted your application to the next level yet?

I think so? My recruiter went on a leave for a week, last she said was that the processor has my kit for final review...my recruiter comes back tomrrw so im forsure gonna get in contact with her...i just wanna kno how many spots there are so i could kinda have an idea where im at..what do u think ure chances are?? I think im about 50/50 LOL

My packet was at national headquarters by Oct 1 and just earlier this week the program manager requested "extra information". I submitted everything and am currently awaiting for the board to convene. My recruiter told me that boards will not be held until November so it seems like we more than likely won't be hearing anything official until after Thanksgiving. I was also told that the numbers will not be approved until Congress reconvenes and approves the proposed numbers. Currently, the proposal includes the following specialties: ICU, ER, OR, L&D, Peds, and Med/Surg. Apparently there are only 20 proposed positions. Best of luck to everyone!

My chances? Ugh, that changes daily. Some days I feel like I've got a diverse enough background and dedication to serve my fellow service men and women and others I feel like I still have so much to learn. The one thing I do know is that I enjoyed my time in when I was enlisted, and no matter what, no board can take that away from me. I hope everyone who really wants to gets a chance to experience that.

NavywifeRN- 20 positions?! Oh man LOL thanks for the info tho..i guess as long as theres a goal this year then we all have a chance!

Foxessb1- ure prior service should help ure application..nobody could ever disregard that..so i guess thanksgiving?! Lol

Lets hope it's at least by Thanksgiving! I've been reading these selection board threads for years, and it never seems to happen when everyone expects it to. It's out of our hands now.

I've learned from last year that things are ever changing. My new motto to live by has been "I'll believe it when I see it". The approved numbers may end up being more than 20. I hope we know by thanksgiving but I'm mentally prepared to wait until Christmas for the results.

Yea i like that motto! Probably best to not think its gonna happen in November..when do u guys think ODS will be for US if we get in? LOL
