Cypress College

Anybody apply to Cypress College or is planning to? I was dumb enough to go the first day, and even though I was a half hour early, I ended up waiting a good 4+ hours for an application. Probably not the best set up I've seen, but whatever, this is the school I want to get in! So, here's the thread for Cypress, and wishing nothing but the very best to all us 2011 hopefuls!

yep! The one and only! I told her a joke once, and I think she like...sorta smiled. I saw her again today and she was all frowns again. She's interesting to say the least =)

I got a lot done today. Applied to the college (cuz you gotta apply to the college again if you've never been there before obviously), got a student id, got appointment for physical, and got seriously lost trying to find the bookstore. Also visited the library, since I have a feeling I might invest in real estate there...

oh, Ncamp. Lucky you have two books! I only have the version 5, but whatever, it can't be too different.

how are you guys studying for the TEAS? do you guys study like little parts from each section a day? or do you guys like split up the english and science for one study sesison and reading and math for another? i'm going to start studying for it today

i studied for it like i studied for SATs back in the days. Take the sample test, see what you miss, and look for answer explanations in the back. If big ???s and @!$*@& pop up in your head, refer the section and brush up on it...

ok cool i'll implement that when i study for this :) btw when they do urinalysis on you, they're only testing for any drugs in your system right? do you know if other things like supplements might hinder your test results?

Does anyone know how and/ or when we find out if we take the TEAS test on Friday or Saturday? Just wondering because I am going to have to ask for time off of work.

damn spacy, I wish I asked that when I was there. crap.

ncamp...hmm, I honestly don't know anything about that one =)

What are you guys scoring on these TEAS practice exams? I've got a long way and lots to study from the looks of it for this whole week =\

um, I got all the math problems right on the practice test I took for version 5, and missed about 5-10 on the rest of them, except for the grammar one, which was traumatizing. English is my second language, and I have never taken a grammar class. I choose the answers that sound right to me, and they're usually wrong, lol.

Is it just me, or is the science actually the tough one..

I completed my physical last week at my doctors office... wasn't too bad. As for the urinalysis I think they're just making sure you don't have any issues physically as well as testing for drug use. As long as you aren't taking supplements with opiates in them or something equally questionable you should be fine.

I'm going to start going through the book today to see how things go. It's been a while since I've taken any English or math classes and I am probably pretty rusty.

Guava, I think I was on campus for my Intro to Nursing class the same day you were there. I could have saved you a lot of wandering :p And if you've only missed that many on the practice test I really think you have nothing to worry about. They're just looking for a passing grade and that sounds like more than passing to me :)

LESS THAN A WEEK TO GO GUYS! Looking forward to meeting you all - even if we don't end up in the same graduating class. (Oh god, just let me get in!)

Hey NCamp! The physical and tests don't bother me. The 5 vaccinations I probably need does. Darn! I should have asked you for a tour! What is up with the buildings being stacked on top of each other, so hard to find everything!

Haha its not bad once you have been there a semester. For me the T-DaP vaccine was the worst. It was super sore for about 3 days afterward :( I haven't received the paperwork back regarding the titers though so I may need one or two more soon.

RAWR I wish they would just give me an acceptance already! I'd love to be in this semesters batch. Everyone on here is so nice!
