Cypress College Fall 2018

Hi! I didn't find a topic yet for Cypress Fall 2018 applicants, so I thought I'd start one!

I just received an email yesterday that I was accepted as an alternate for Fall (I was rejected for Spring 2018) and wanted to know if there were any other alternates, or those who were accepted?

Also, does anyone know if they have any specific order for alternates? The suspense is torturing lol

I was following the lecture schedule on the Taylor book. I think the first lecture is on asepsis so that is chapter 23 I think. I'm not sure if I'm doing that correctly lol. My registration is the 20th as well.

Hello,

My name is Laura and I just got accepted into the program. I was an alternative and I just got the good new today. I didn't attend orientation since I was only an alternative and now I'm receiving emails from the professors with requiered book list and access codes. Can you guys please help me out with more information. I know we need to register to classes and am not even sure what classes.

Hi Laura! My name is Cindy, I was in the same situation as you. I got in as an alternate. First thing to take care of is buy the castle branch package for your drug test and background check. It is also where you will be turning in the health requirement paperwork. Make an appointment with your doctor and make sure you get titers and all the papers filled out. If you need help send me an email. [email protected] . I was overwhelmed at first but just take it one step at a time.

Quick question, those who have gotten accepted will you be taking the cpr course at cypress ?? I know it's a one day thing on the day of family night. At orientation they mentioned that it would be a great way to begin to meet everyone in the program.

Also I was thinking of maybe making a Facebook group for fall 2018 so that we can help each other along the way :)

Would that be something everyone would like to do?

No I took my cpr class already. It would have been a good idea to do it at the school to meet everyone. A Facebook group would be awesome!

Hey! I was supposed to start in Fall 2018 but because I'm getting married and won't be in the US for 3 weeks I had to defer, so I'm starting in the spring 2019 Good luck on applying! Hopefully you get in!
