Hi all,
Just thought to start this thread. Has anyone applied to Curry for Accel BSN January 2017 yet? I have and I am really looking forward to being accepted. I am currently working as an LPN and I have a bachelors in geological sciences. I definitely want to move up my career path and explore more opportunities. Curry is about 20 minutes away from me and is really convenient and I've heard great reviews about the program.
If you attended or are attending, please give a few pointers or ideas, it will be appreciated and if you are applying or have applied just like me then looking forward to seeing you in January 2017

My TOEFL has expired. Seems like I need to retake it. I didn't include anything about med school or residency in my statement. I have 3 years of clinical experience in clinics, 6 months in nursing home, 8 months in clinical research, 1 publication. I haven't finished 2 pre-requisites yet. All grade A in pre-requisites. Curry has waived TOEFL for me but I am not sure about other schools.
Ah I see why. You didn't finish 2 classes. That's the issue. I think you shouldn't give up. I know you'll get in once those two courses are done. As I mentioned before, apply to nyu. Granted if you apply in her in you'll start next summer since the spring dealine is over. But you're in my anyways. Take your chance! I have a feel you'll get in next round. As you mentioned in your first post you will never give up. Don't all this lost to crumble your dreams and passion. I know I won't. There's always a reason behind our lost. :)
curry did receive a well-rounded strong and well-qualified group of applicants this time around. the professor was looking for a one-page minimum, those who has their associate degree in nursing or who are PCAs. chances are that maybe be the reason for one to be rejected if they don't fit those criteria. as I predicted the choosing had a lot to do with the essay/ and now learning their requirement of work experience. GPA not so much because we all probably had the requirement of a 3.0 or higher. I know now they didn't even bother reviewing my resume because he didn't mention it to me. after seeing my 2.5 page they tossed my application aside. shrugs. its life I can't impress everyone :).
but then again everyone has their chances in life. :) they might not have liked my presentational approach, but that doesn't mean they felt the same towards you guys. nursing school is extremely choosy and if an applicant doesn't fit their vision than most likely they won't be accepted. that goes for anything in life. I roll with the punches and keep it moving with a huge smile on my face.

I recommend applying to MCPHS in Manchester Nh. It might be farther away and not in Boston but it has good reviews the other locations don't. They receive less apps for January start so less competition. It's another option!
