Hello!! I am looking heavily into applying for Curry's accel program. Is there anyone out there that has attended the program or is applying this year for the April 1st deadline?
Thanks, I am out of state so can't attend an info session.
If I had to guess, I would say the class size will be similar to past years. The demand for this program is always high. I think they keep it small because of limits on their resources (number of professors, clinical spaces, etc.) I suspect that they want to ensure the best experience for their students and therefore will keep it small so the resources aren't overwhelmed.
Ahhhhhhh so nervous!!! The closer I get to finding out, the more restless I get! Knowing the day they decide is killing me...part of me wishes they would have just said, "you'll hear back sometime around May". I don't know, all I know is that this wait is KILLER! Again best of wishes to you all :)
Also waitlisted and so disappointed. I am giving myself today to be sad and then I am picking myself up and looking forward. Curry was the first school I applied to. Now my focus is on a Summer 2013 start. I am applying to Simmons, MGH and UMass Boston. Hopefully, one of them will want me! Best of luck to everyone!
I am noticing that, so far, all of us waitlisted had at least one prereq not completed.
Mapie - Huge Congrats! May I ask what you think made the difference for you? I know that you had some prereqs to complete last year (I think). Did you change your personal statement at all? I definitely plan on reapplying next year and hope I fare the same as you!
When I applied last year, I only had two of the prerequisites completed. This year, I had them all completed with a 4.0. I did change my personal statement (I had to; I was told I needed to write a brand new one.) But the "spirit" of the statement was the same, since my reasons for wanting to be a nurse and for wanting to go to Curry were the same. I think my persistence was possibly a factor. The fact that I applied two years in a row does show a commitment to both nursing and to Curry.

I can't believe we find out next week! I wonder how many people applied this year? I remember reading they get over 300 applications...
