  1. That would be fine. I also PMed you my contact info, which is probably the best way to contact me. (Allnurses.com doesn't consistently notify me when I get a PM.)
  2. Hi Pavolga, I'd love to join you. It may have to wait until August, though. Summer clinicals and class start this month, and will keep me crazy busy until the end of July. If you can wait until then, I think an iced coffee sounds perfect!
  3. Congratulations, Pavolga! That's wonderful news! I'm very sorry to those of you that didn't get in. I do have some sense of how you feel: I applied twice to Curry and was rejected outright the first time. (Persistence paid off and I got in the second time.) I wish you all luck in your future pursuits, whether it's reapplying to Curry or going to another school.
  4. Yup, regular-sized envelope.
  5. Or better yet, on campus next year!
  6. Hi tapeitup! I'm so sorry I didn't respond sooner; I just revisited for the first time today to see if everyone was getting their letters. Sorry they didn't come today. I know it's frustrating. I hope it comes for everyone tomorrow! I really do love the program. And I say that, even with finals next week. I think the number of hours really varies, depending on the person and how they study best. I think you need to expect to study a lot during the weeks of exams, and anticipate spending time each week reviewing material and reading in textbooks. I think after the first round of exams, you get a really good sense of where you need to spend your time and how to prioritize the reading. I wish you so much luck!
  7. I absolutely love it! It is a lot of work, and a lot of info coming at you quickly, but that's to be expected in an accelerated program. The professors are great, and so are my classmates. I'm really happy I'm in the program.
  8. If it helps relieve any anxiety as the month goes on, I applied to Curry two years in a row. The first year, my rejection came on May 3rd. The next year, my acceptance came on May 2nd. So when they say they'll make their decision and send out letters on May 1st, they mean it. So start stalking that mailbox after May 1st. Good luck to you all! I remember how you feel all too well.
  9. PennyS, I just sent you a message.
  10. I do not recall if they specified whether it should be single- or double-spaced. However, I can tell you that the essay I wrote was single-spaced. With only one page, I found it difficult to fit all I wanted to convey, even with single-spacing.
  11. Congratulations to you, Juliab. The facebook group is located here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/447772131916374/
  12. I recall at one of the Curry info sessions I attended that they explained that they decide the size of the class they want (for example, 30) and then accept more than that amount, because they assume a certain percentage will not come to Curry. (For example, is statistics show that 15% don't accept the offer, then they'll accept 35 students, hoping to hit their target of 30.) They said they actually had a year where everyone accepted the offer and they ended up with a larger cohort than they wanted! So, assuming I understood their explanation correctly, that's why people are rarely taken off the wait list. They only take people off the wait list if the number drops below the ideal number, and to get to that point, several people have to decline the offer of acceptance.
  13. Michelle, if you decide to go to Curry, I hope you'll join the facebook group: Curry ACCEL: Class of 2014.
  14. No, just rejected last year. I only had 2 out of the 6 prerequisites completed by April 1st so I'm sure that was a huge mark against me last year.
