Ahhhhhhhh congrats guys!!!! I'm in too :) EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee literally dancing off the walls right now! Can't wait to see all the awesome July 13th attendees again and meet all you 16th and 20th Duke Day people!!! YAY YAY YAY

Jonron1216 - this might be a bit late since you're probably already in flight, but I think the biggies for tomorrow are comfy shoes for the tour, layers (again for tour-I'm planning on wearing a short sleeve shirt under a suit jacket so I can look professional during the interview and remove said jacket during the most likely hot and humid outdoor tour), and randomly I always make sure I have tissues (nothing worse than having the sniffles in an interview, sadly I know this from experience ...doesn't help with the nerves). Ahhhh so excited for tomorrow!!! :)

Hello All! I also applied to Duke ABSN for the Spring start date. I was reading through older threads and came upon this one, so glad to see a thread for Spring 2013! :) Does anyone know how long it takes for them to send out interview invites? Thanks! And best of luck to us all

abqbbq - Yes, I've also heard that it is extremely rare to be taken off the waitlist and offered admission. Oh well, my sights are now set on my other schools...and yes we WILL get into a school :) What other schools have you applied to? I applied to MGH, Duke and Regis ::fingers crossed::

Sha1723: here is how I think they do it based on everyone's comments. I think they make a pile of applicants that have all of their prereqs complete, a pile of those that have one in progress, a pile of those that have 2 in progress and so forth. From there they go through the first pile and take the top 30 (based on grades and essay). So if there are enough people who applied who have all of their prereqs complete, anyone with classes in progress are sent automatically to the wait list or completely rejected. This is just my interpretation since I have an undergrad gpa of 3.8, a prereq gpa of 4.0, thought I wrote a decent essay and have nursing experience since I work as a CNA...but was wait listed from what I can only assume to be because I am currently taking stats.

Wow! Totally thought I would be the only one waitlisted on this discussion board (which is why I hadn't been checking since I was not yet ready to see all of the "YAY! I got in!!!" comments). Alas, I let myself be sad for a bit and now I am focusing on the other schools I applied to (MGH, Simmons and Duke). Got my letter today...waitlisted I think not having my stats prereq completed yet was my downfall. Oh well...crossing my fingers for the other schools I applied to! GOOD LUCK everyone else, hope you get accepted into whatever schools you desire!

Ahhhhhhh so nervous!!! The closer I get to finding out, the more restless I get! Knowing the day they decide is killing me...part of me wishes they would have just said, "you'll hear back sometime around May". I don't know, all I know is that this wait is KILLER! Again best of wishes to you all :)

So where else did everyone apply? What are your #1 schools, #2 etc? I applied to MGH and Duke as well, but am feeling I would like to stay in Boston since I just made a huge move from CA just 3 months ago. Also, I think I have a slim chance of getting into Duke

Hey Guys! Another Curry hopeful here :) I don't know if I can stand the wait...ugh we still have 2ish weeks to go right? So anyways my stats - BA in dance (I know...so not science-y) from UCSD with GPA of 3.84 (again not hard when you are a dancer...you pretty much show up and dance / choreograph / critique and you get an A) so I a not sure how that will play out in the decision. I took all my sciences post graduation and got all A's in them. I am taking stats now so the jury is still out on that one. I just became a CNA and work at a hospice center, but I didn't get to put that in my resume since I got the job literally days after I submitted my application :/ Well you all sound so qualified and I am sure you will all get in! Please post when you start hearing back with acceptances so I can share in congratulating ya!
