I felt the same way for so long...and then I bought a pair! I've converted to Crocs now. They are SO comfortable; if you get a pair that fits right it feels like you're not even wearing shoes. (Even though I agree, they are hideous.) I work third shift, so comfort is really important to me.
I finally caved when I started at the hospital I'm currently at- everybody had them, and I found a pair that matched nicely with our scrubs at the outlet store.
I say give them a chance. You'll never have to wear them outside the hospital (or wherever your work), and everybody there wears them anyway, so it doesn't matter what they look like. The comfort is worth it.

great info, im gonna go search for a pair and try them on,ill probably cave in :)
Just a quick note, there are some hospitals considering banning the Croc. Our hospital is considering it based on the holes, the risk for falls and they tend increase static electricity. Have any of you heard of this being true for your facility too? I will be crushed... having searched for 10 years for the perfect shoe I found the Croc and now they may be banned.
Yeh, one person fell at our LTC, now they are officially banned. Some people were still wearing them. Last week the QA nurse made a list of people still wearing them, to give to the administrator when she gets back from a conference. And morale gets lower and lower...

Hey guys ive been an ambulance driver for a while and going in and out of all the Chicago facilities i've noticed those clogs/garden shoes on everyone from Doctors to cleaning staff? Just wondered whats up with that? I think they are hideous but i'd probably wear them instead of canvas white shoes anyday.
thanks guys:D:eek::typing
