Hello people,
I don't know how true this is, but I heard that there is a cure for HIV. I don't know if it's a possible cure or they actually found a cure. If anyone happens to know more about it please let me know, I am interested in finding out more.
I just know that the HIV cases are increasing. I read a few threads here from nurses that have contracted HIV and I feel sorry for them. I want everybody to live a happy, long healthy life.
I think this is what the OP may be referring to.http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703609004575355072271264394.html
Thanks. I wonder if Donor 45 has European ancestors who survived the black plague.
the answer brielle gave was great, but the
cure for HIV is dont put your self in harms way to get it. Broken skin of host, etc.
Here in Ontario, there is Robarts Research institue that does a LOT of background work in research! These boys & girls are on the cutting edge! These kids are HOT!
Heck, I'd settle for some affordable medications. The prescription coverage at my current hospital is so terrible that I wind up spending over $300/month on my meds. I understand that scientific innovation probably needs to be financially rewarded, but it smarts to know that some investors are making a fortune off my misfortune (and my employer's greed). Any other HIV+ nurses out there? Feeling pretty lonely. PM me.

If only life were so simple. I have a family member whose husband got HIV and then AIDS through his infidelity. Only through luck and happenstance did she, his wife, not get HIV from her adulterous husband!
Discovery Helps US Researchers Close In on HIV Vaccine
Protein found to destroy virus i believe. article above.
I see it as the other way around..the adults during conception were careless, but the kids have to be taught! Breakage of the main barrier, the skin, will allow HIV to be transmitted, no matter how small the cut!
Unprotected sex in country where HIV originiated, Africa! I read about this long time ago, when Stephen Lewis was actively trying to get the african people more educated in the prevention.
PLUS sharing the same needles! Many drug uses not knowing the needles break the main barrier, the skin.
"Doctors in Germany say a patient appears to have been cured of HIV by a bone marrow transplant from a donor who had a genetic resistance to the virus."
Cool, then people can die of things like graft-versus-host disease in a few weeks, versus HIV years latter.
