Hi, has anyone gone here or know some one who has? I am looking for all feedback - good or bad - about the Associates Degree program there. Lots of bureacracy? Good teachers? Prepare you well for licensing exam? etc, etc,e tc!
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!
the names of instructors have been edited out. this is a very public and very busy bulletin board. we do not want anyone hurt.
please. in the future, if you want to discuss a particular instructor from a particular institution, you can utilize the private messaging (pm) or chat functions of this bulletin board.
thank you for your understanding!

I should have used better judgement when deciding to use names. It wasn't my intent to hurt anyone. Thanks for editing!
No need for apologies. We've had problems with instructor's names being mentioned in the past. Just trying to prevent repeating them. No harm done, though! :)
By the way, congrats on the new RN!
Cheers! :)

same here, i did not mean any harm by using names.
when i visited the admissions office, i was given a packet of info regarding the nursing program. the first page reads, and i quote, "The college does not maintain a wait list for admission. Some students have found it necessary to apply two or three times before being admitted to the clinical sequence. However, other eligible students, but with a lower pre-clinical index have not been admitted in successive years."
so there ya go...straight from the bmcc information i received. no wait list! :)
we're going to visit bmcc next week :) my boyfriend is interested in applying there. he's completed all his pre-reqs down here in miami, he's ready to be starting clinicals. his grades are not all A's would you recommend that he doesn't transfer anything in?
also, he is a certified nurse assistant in florida, does anyone know the process he would have to undergo to become certified in nyc?
wow 3.7 is really high. I'm a little confused, is this for the BS degree? Is it the cum. GPA from all classes or just the pre-reqs? I'm attending Hunter and really worried that I won't make it into the nursing program so i'm looking around for less competitive schools. But BMCC seems even more difficult to get into than Hunter.

As a former New Yorker and graduate of a school in NYC, I would just like to know what and where is BMCC? It is so hard to follow a discussion when you are out of the loop, so to speak!...Thanks for your answers in advance

i was over there months ago and spoke to mr. ****** . he said they don't keep a waiting list. you have to keep reapplying to the clinical phase until you are accepted. don't know which is worse...
