Hi ,
Creating this thread for anyone applying for Spring 2021 to share information, tips, ask questions or ask for adivce.
I've finished all my pre-reqs for the nursing program and will be taking Microbiology starting next week..
I will be taking the TEAS in December for Spring 21 I will begin studying for the TEAS in November.
@Keemz I wouldn't worry too much. You did really well with your GPA! Which I believe is what they prioritize! I graduated in June and I'm already working. Word of advice is to do nursing questions!! read all the rationales and don't fall behind. ALSO, get simplenursing as soon as you can or even before you start! get your subscription it was a LIFE SAVER! For myself and literally all of my class! Stay positive, stay on top of your game and believe in yourself! GOOD LUCK!!
@Stellaraj8 thank you very much. Congratulations on graduating. I’m going to just keep saying I got in to speak it into existence.
From start to finish, how long was the nursing program once you started? Some say a year and some say 2. I finish my last 2 prerequisites this semester. Then it’s 4 semesters of nursing(2 years)?
Hi, I realize this thread is old but I really need some help please? I'm trying to get into the LPN program at hostos and need to know how do I start because I need to do the prerequisites first? I tried calling and nobody answered the phone. I don't know where to begin to sign up for the prerequisites for the LPN so if anyone can give me some advice I would appreciate it?
Thanks

Hi,
Yeah it's heard to get into contact with anyone and it worst at the end of the school year. So I don't know much the LPN program but this is what I can tell you, for the LPN program you will need to take the below pre-reqs:
If you have a CUNYFirst account log in and look for the schedule builder tab, click on it and from there you will be able to sign up for classes.
Below are link you can look at about the requirements for the LPN program
https://hostos.catalog.cuny.edu/programs/LPN-CERT
https://www.hostos.cuny.edu/Administrative-Offices/Office-of-Academic-Affairs/Departments/Allied-Health/Nursing/Prospective-Nursing-Students-(1)/Nursing-Program-Eligibility-Checklist
Just a note if you want to continue into the RN program you will need a B- in all of the science courses.
If you have anymore question don't hesitant to ask.

Hi thank you so much for replying I really grateful for your help!
I do have a Cuny first account with Lehman College but they don't offer LPN programs and my bills are piling up and with my mother passing away just recently I have to be with a better job to help my disabled sister out because she only has me now.
So I just go on my Cuny first to sign up for the LPN prerequisites and that's it? I have never used builder before?
Also I have a few of those prerequisites already from attending Lehman do you know if they will accept those?
thank you
Melanie C
Hostos and Lehman college have an articulation agreement with each other so your pre-req credits will be transferable.
If your not a student at Hostos yet, you can take the classes at Lehman or apply for an epermit and take the classes to Hostos.
If your looking to start your journey as an LPN fill out a transfer application now so you can start in the Fall. Hostos now offers the LPN program in the evening.

@Rose_P Sorry for the late reply, I just saw this message. I graduated in June and I am already working. The program was a bit disorganized here and there but what nursing program isn't! What matters is that the professors were all so supportive and helpful!!
