Good Evening! and I hope all is well with your studies.

Would you mind sharing the expenses for the Nursing program please.

Like the cost for Book and uniforms and such.

This semester ATI and books are covered by a grant. Normally ATI is $840 and books total $1,000.

For new students, castle branch is $160.75 and the cost of drug test is included in the price.

BLS certification is $100.

Child abuse and infection control certification is $50

The school tells you to get your uniform from this website https://flynnohara.com/shop/hostos-nursing-ny006/?_bc_fsnf=1&Gender=Girl&Grade=OTHER#tab-shop The website ends up charging close to $40 just for the top. Delivery from the online shop is 4 - 6 weeks. I found it cheaper to purchase the top and bottom from a store on 125th and they charge a few dollars to add the hostos patch. I'm pretty sure I paid $20 or less.

you will need to purchase a stethoscope, BP cuff, pulse oximeter, and watch (no apple watches allowed)\

Hope this helps.

@LeauVixen thank you so much a thousand times it was super helpful.
mom going to see if I can look for scrubs online and add the patches aswell.
Did they have the patches at the store or was that something you had to hunt down?

@ForJanesSake

The store makes the patches for $10.

Oh wow can you tell me where this store is located and name of it?

That is Great, thank you so much for the information.

You mentioned you bought the uniform from a store, does it have to be the exact same brand/style or can we purchase any top/bottom as long as its the same color?

I hope your studies are going well @LeauVixen

I was accepted to Hostos for Fall 2021 and was as I was browsing around noticed they won't have Che 105 for fall 2021. This would be the only class I would need to take as far as prereqs to appply.

I'll be taking MicroBio and Statistics this Summer.

I was wondering if it was true that Che 105 isn't offered in the Fall 2021 since I would have to transfers colleges.(Honestly had I know I wouldn't have accepted the offer & They don't advise you until you accept.

Thank you for your help.

Good Morning Rose,

I’m finishing up required courses.

Good morning ForJanesSake,

Ahh, sorry. I did not read it clearly. Glad to hear you are finishing up required courses!

Anyway, how is the Microbiology class? Hope you don’t mind to share. Myself need Microbiology class before applying an LPN over there.

HEY! How was your first semester in the program? Hope it went really well!  ..So I got “conditionally” accepted to the LPN program. ?

I have orientation and the med-calculation exam next week. I’ve written a few emails asking what I need to study and/or if I need to know any medications and no one is responding. I called the nursing department and the lady told me she couldn’t answer that. Smh!  Can you help me out on what to study? Math is my weakness! Especially algebra so I'm freaking out as I need the 80% minimum. I know you mentioned that no calculators are allowed. I'm assuming it's dosage calculation and conversions like grams to liters, and etc? Finding out how many pills to give based on the label they give? Dimensional analysis?  Do we get medication labels? Or drug knowledge questions?

I'd appreciate any insight/advice. TIA

Hi. I just took my TEAS and did not do as well as I wanted to.  I ran out of time on the science and English language but did well in math and reading.  My overall was 70?.  My GPA is 3.9. I’m praying I get into the RN night class in January.  Pray for me please.
