The Fillipino nurses I have worked with have always been very intelligent, hard working and kind. I love talking to them about life in general, and how things are in a different part of the world.
I give them great credit for venturing so far from home in order to improve their lives and their families lives.
Here's to you Maribelle and Jun, Ralph and a few more I have forgotten the names of.
Filipino nurses are awesome, I worked with a lot of them and CNAs also, funny, very hard workers, good singers (I will never forget, lol, the karaoke staff, he, he, he) super, very good in communication, you could have trust in them, but the most AWESOME is the they have WARM souls and hearts....ok not ALL of them, loooool , but most of them. Awesome nurses, good friends!
I am interested on any thoughts on this topic. Would like to hear feedback from both Filipino and American nurses on issues that come up in working with each other regarding cultural conflicts, adjustments, miscommunications, etc.
Issues?
Filipinos are raised to be very tolerant of others and thier cultures.
The most friendly people I have ever meet. Generally they are happy and make the best out of what they have.
I have spent a lot of times in the Philippines.
Wonderful people, with a inner beauty (warm heart and soul) that is amazing.
I'm so glad they won their case. Considering some of the awful work conditions I (a blond haired, blue eyed, born in the continental US person) have had to work under I can only imagine the crap this place tried to pull on these "new to the US" nurses.
Perhaps this is a good step forward in fair and equitable working conditions for all nurses.
