Hi all! I know it's early in the game, as the previous application cycle just ended, but I'm applying to Gateway's ADN program for the next cycle and felt like comparing stats.
My Stats
Bachelor's Degree in non-nursing field from UConn
School I'm applying to: Gateway
GPA: 3.69
A&P I grade: A
TEAS: 90
Rank: 93.625
Â
I'm very nervous about acceptance because I heard Gateway is one of the more competitive schools and a nurse at the LTC I'm working told me they won't accept you if you have a chem grade below A even if your GPA and everything else is high. Is that a myth or true?? My UConn chem grade is B-, I've never been good at chemistry. But my A&P I and II and all my other courses besides microbio are A.
One question: Does anyone know how many apply to Gateway on average and how many get accepted?
Feel free to copy and paste the template to share your stats! Let's get this conversation going! Good luck everyone!

GPA:3.2Â
TEAS: 65%Â
A&P1: B-Â
I also work at Yale hospital as a PCA so I'm hoping I can get experience points 😠I'm so nervous.Â
Experience is always great, but unfortunately it won't affect whether you get into this program - check the requirements, it's all based on points and ranking. I would just  re-take the TEAS if I were you 🙂

Hi Leslie! Update (My name is SnowiBun, I was the one who started this thread for people to talk about getting into Gateway ADN). I'm in the program now and entering the second semester! One thing I highly recommend you do to boost your TEAS score is study with a TEAS practice course. Originally I wanted to see if Khan Academy offers TEAS practice like it does for MCAT and LSAT but it doesn't. I read some reviews online and there are practice courses available from ATI and Mometrix, but Mometrix seemed to have better reviews. It's a little pricey but depending in how much time you have left before you plan to take your TEAS, I recommend just chipping away little by little in each section and take the practice exams a few times before you do the real test. They have a free practice test with 170 questions here:Â https://www.mometrix.com/academy/TEAS-practice-test/
You can also try out the Mometrix practice course for free for 7 days before deciding if you want to continue practicing with it. You can access that here:
https://www.mometrix.com/university/TEAS-test/?utm_source=academy&utm_medium=header&utm_campaign=academy-mu-ads&utm_content=TEAS-test
Good luck!! I really hope you get in!
