Hi all! I know it's early in the game, as the previous application cycle just ended, but I'm applying to Gateway's ADN program for the next cycle and felt like comparing stats.

My Stats

Bachelor's Degree in non-nursing field from UConn

School I'm applying to: Gateway

GPA: 3.69

A&P I grade: A

TEAS: 90

Rank: 93.625

I'm very nervous about acceptance because I heard Gateway is one of the more competitive schools and a nurse at the LTC I'm working told me they won't accept you if you have a chem grade below A even if your GPA and everything else is high. Is that a myth or true?? My UConn chem grade is B-, I've never been good at chemistry. But my A&P I and II and all my other courses besides microbio are A.

One question: Does anyone know how many apply to Gateway on average and how many get accepted?

Feel free to copy and paste the template to share your stats! Let's get this conversation going! Good luck everyone!

Hello! I'm also applying to Gateway for the next cycle and I've been reading past forums for a good 2 months now LOL. I still have a ton to do before I start my application. But for now...

GPA: 3.63

A&P I: B+

TEAS: To be determined...(haven't taken it yet but plan to take it in June-Aug if available ?)

I still have 1 prerequisite left and a few co-requisites to take so hopefully those will boost my GPA in the fall:). However, I do plan on retaking my A&P I class during the Summer session for a better grade simply because I'm worried about the competitiveness of this next cycle. Not saying that a B+ in A&P I is a bad grade, but I just don't want to take any chances ?

And I'm just like you! I despise chemistry! I remember absolutely struggling with it during high school. I, unfortunately, have to take it in the fall which means that I have to rely on self-practice/review for the chemistry questions on the TEAS. :*( Hopefully what your co-worker said about chemistry isn't true because if it is then I am screwed LOL.

You should be very proud though your stats look great!

Hi! I applied to Gateway's ADN program for the 2023-2024 application cycle. I also applied to Southern's traditional BSN program. I'm already dreading the wait to find out if I've been accepted or not..

GPA: 3.96

A&P I grade: A-

TEAS: 72.7%

Rank: 90.8

For those who may not know*Calculate your rank with this: (GPA x 25 x .5) + (A&P I GPA x 25 x.25) + (TEAS x .25) = X

You do not need an A in chemistry to be accepted into Gateway, but of course, your grade will matter for the overall nursing GPA. The nurse who told you that is spreading false information. This is coming from someone who attends Gateway, and has went to their nursing information sessions.

I will let you know if I get accepted when the time comes!

Apologies! I thought you both were talking about the NEXT cycle since the 2023-2024 application cycle just ended! Good luck to you two I have no doubt you'll be accepted ?

They are talking about the next cycle, but I thought I should post my stats and then update with my results later on so you guys have something to compare.?

I'm freaking out because everything is showing up as "Not received." I wonder how long until they start reviewing applications.

These will be marked as received once your application has been reviewed/evaluated, which should happen between now and by the end of March.

I'm just curious, has anyone's changed to received ?

The only things on my application marked as received are my immunizations, proof of high school completion, and the supplemental information form.

My coworker and I both have applications that haven't been completed. Still in the "not received" stage so maybe it's a known issue?

I think it will update as they start processing the applications... I just wanted to know if anyone's is showing up as received because my last name starts with R ?

I totally get it! My last name starts with B & I was like something is not right, LOL. If it doesn't show received by 3/15 that's when we have a problem cause they've already started evaluating. ??????
