Has anyone seen this addendum on the nursing curriculum packet page 9 for the 2017-2018 school year? I'm really, really hoping they're not adding any more prerequisites because I'm chomping at the bit to leave my current career and another year would be so hard!

"Based upon current curriculum planning these course requirements may change slightly, once finalized a transition plan will be put into place."

I can log in. Is it working for you?

My nursing required items were marked "met" during the school/work day, so I think the nursing decisions will change then too. But what do I know

I haven't really decided! The most important people (who will be the most excited) are my dad and my boyfriend! I'm thinking maybe a shirt or something to give my dad to open.. no idea for my boyfriend. I am able to log into mycommnet too. I completely agree, it's likely that it will be posted during business hours.

No special way, just phone calls, texts, and probably Facebook.. I want to tell as many people as possible as soon as I find out! If it's good news, that is.

I plan on buying a pearl pink Littman as SOON as I find out. Maybe send them all a selfie with it on. They'll know í ½í¸Š

That's ironic, I was just looking at stethescopes online! That's a good idea!!

As pretty as the pearl pink is, it gets dingey and fades quickly. The bolder colors hold up. I have a Classic II in royal blue and my sister has one in the breast cancer pink. They are three and four years old respectively and still as vibrant as day one.

Oh good to know!! The breast cancer pink was my second choice. Thank you sooo much! :geek:

No worries! It's a bright pink but holds up so well. There's an ocean blue color I fell in love with and I saw someone wearing it while I was in school and was so glad I opted for royal instead. The ocean blue had faded to almost a grayish color

Hey guys!! I've been following this thread for the past few months to stay in the loop! I really appreciate everyones input. Any other LPN applicants out there??

I'm not an LPN candidate but if I don't get in to the CCC program this year I may go for LPN and apply to CCCs again next year with advanced standing like you. Where'd you go to school to earn your LPN? Looks like the state tech school program is gone.

I've seen this warning about the Clutter Folder online and in the nursing packet...wanted to share because I know I would HATE to miss the long anticipated status email due to clutter folder!

Side note: I have my school email (@mail.ct.edu) forwarded to another account that shows up on my iPhone's mail app; this means that if it went to clutter folder, it wouldn't even make it to the second email address. I don't know how to get it directly from scchool mail to mail app. A year ago there was no way to do it, assuming it's still the same.

To ensure emails do not go into the Outlook Clutter folder. Follow these instructions to turn Clutter OFF prior toapplying to prevent this from occurring:

Sign in to the Outlook Web App

  1. Go to Settings page5image22448> Options > Mail > Automatic processing > Clutter.

  2. De-Select/Un-Check the 2 boxes, Separate items identified as clutter” and Send me notifications
about messages that are separated as clutter”, and then click page5image24336Save.

I went to Stone Academy and did the 22 month part time option because I had the same idea! They JUST changed the process this year though and not for the better! This is part of the email that I got... If I get admitted I have 2 choices...

1.Start the program in Nursing 101 in the Fall 2017 semester with all applicants for the full two-year program.

2. Select the advanced placement option into Nursing 201 and bridge the final two semesters starting Fall 2018-May 2019.

It is important to note that there will be a limited number of spots (not to be determined until May 2018) available for advanced placement into Nursing 201.

Should you choose the advanced placement option, you will not be guaranteed a space into Nursing 201 for Fall 2018. It will depend on how many spots are available and how many LPN applicants select the advanced placement option into Nursing 201 for the Fall 2018 semester.
