Has anyone seen this addendum on the nursing curriculum packet page 9 for the 2017-2018 school year? I'm really, really hoping they're not adding any more prerequisites because I'm chomping at the bit to leave my current career and another year would be so hard!
"Based upon current curriculum planning these course requirements may change slightly, once finalized a transition plan will be put into place."
I went to Stone Academy and did the 22 month part time option because I had the same idea! They JUST changed the process this year though and not for the better! This is part of the email that I got... If I get admitted I have 2 choices...1.Start the program in Nursing 101 in the Fall 2017 semester with all applicants for the full two-year program.
2. Select the advanced placement option into Nursing 201 and bridge the final two semesters starting Fall 2018-May 2019.
It is important to note that there will be a limited number of spots (not to be determined until May 2018) available for advanced placement into Nursing 201.
Should you choose the advanced placement option, you will not be guaranteed a space into Nursing 201 for Fall 2018. It will depend on how many spots are available and how many LPN applicants select the advanced placement option into Nursing 201 for the Fall 2018 semester.
Wait we have to wait until Fall 2018 to bridge and then there may not be enough space?! I was told we would start fall 2017 as LPNs if we chose to bridge. í ½í¸
I think it's because they only have room should people drop out of the program. Let's say a school has 100 seats, but 10 people drop out first year. Then in nursing 201, they have 10 seats for advanced placement LPNs.
I'm guessing they are no longer able to make additional seats for LPNs?
