CT-CCNP 2017

Has anyone seen this addendum on the nursing curriculum packet page 9 for the 2017-2018 school year? I'm really, really hoping they're not adding any more prerequisites because I'm chomping at the bit to leave my current career and another year would be so hard!

"Based upon current curriculum planning these course requirements may change slightly, once finalized a transition plan will be put into place."

Hey guys!! I've been following this thread for the past few months to stay in the loop! I really appreciate everyones input. Any other LPN applicants out there??

Me! I did my course in Orlando, worked there for two years and now I'm back in CT

I went to Stone Academy and did the 22 month part time option because I had the same idea! They JUST changed the process this year though and not for the better! This is part of the email that I got... If I get admitted I have 2 choices...

1.Start the program in Nursing 101 in the Fall 2017 semester with all applicants for the full two-year program.

2. Select the advanced placement option into Nursing 201 and bridge the final two semesters starting Fall 2018-May 2019.

It is important to note that there will be a limited number of spots (not to be determined until May 2018) available for advanced placement into Nursing 201.

Should you choose the advanced placement option, you will not be guaranteed a space into Nursing 201 for Fall 2018. It will depend on how many spots are available and how many LPN applicants select the advanced placement option into Nursing 201 for the Fall 2018 semester.

Wait we have to wait until Fall 2018 to bridge and then there may not be enough space?! I was told we would start fall 2017 as LPNs if we chose to bridge. í ½í¸

This is for CCC, where did you apply?? I figured they would all be the same but maybe not!

I was REALLY disappointed when I got that email!!

So nervous last year wait listed people found out today I am so nervous, just thinking no news is good news today!

I think it's because they only have room should people drop out of the program. Let's say a school has 100 seats, but 10 people drop out first year. Then in nursing 201, they have 10 seats for advanced placement LPNs.

I'm guessing they are no longer able to make additional seats for LPNs?

no news is good news, but I'm gonna keep checking like a freak anyway!

Im calling......ughhhh all she said (Noreen from NVCC) was that "you'll be finding out really soon before mid April." So I don't think its this week for me now.....but I'll still be checking like a crazy person

Registration for NVCC is April 10 so we have to find out before then I think

I seriously hope its this week I am already an anxious person and this waiting is really disruptive for me

Seriously! I cannot wait into another week....I am so unproductive with both work and school work at the moment. I hate feeling like I'm in limbo and the anticipation is making me feel sick to my stomach!

I've been sitting in my IV therapy class since 9am and I swear I've checked banner about 22 times now
