Hello! I wanted to create this for those applying to Cal State San Marcos ABSN Spring 2022 Cohort.

You do not register for classes. The school of nursing will register you for whatever courses you are required to take. For the first term it's likely to be 2-3 classes depending on whether you took a nutrition course already.
So don't freak out when you get an email about registering for classes, the university sends those out automatically to every student. Our nursing courses are set aside for us.
Oh and be prepared starting in semseter 2 to say goodbye to your Friday's until you are done with the program. That's lecture lab day.
Thank you so much for the guidance!! Has the first semester been online for the last few cohorts? I thought I saw that somewhere on here about that. Also, do you happen to know when orientation might be? Thanks again!

I don't think there's a FB page yet! And I'm moving down there! From the Ventura County area

I'm from VC - oh I miss it LOL.
We are online only this term. Our Spring courses (lecture/lab/clinical) will be resuming in person, at least that was the notion during orientation. Not sure what they'll have you do. We have several people from NorCal that are waiting to move until Nov/Dec/Jan.
Our orientation was 2 weeks into the term. The Summer cohort had there's the Friday before the term started. So the answer is "crap shoot"...

Hahaha I know I'll miss it dearly!! So funny that you're from here as well. Oh wow! That's so much later than I would have anticipated. LOL at crap shoot, guess we'll learn to be flexible ?

Not much else yet I'm only a few weeks into the first term. I can say working is definitely doable the first semester if you need to.
Set up your CSUSM email ASAP once you accept your offer essentially everything else gets sent there.
If your primary care doctor usually has a long wait time to get an appointment make one now for your health check. You'll see instructions once you get access to Compilo.
If you haven't taken nutrition yet, you might see if you can find an online 8 week or 10 week course you can take now (check with the school to make sure it'll meet the requirements). It's an easy way to save yourself a few hundred dollars on tuition.

Thank you! will we receive the information for our student emails?
