CSUSM RN TO BSN

Nursing Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

hello All, I am getting enrolled in Spring 2, 2020 in RN to BSN program in CSU SAN MARCOS. If anyone who went ,or is going to CSUSM . Please, I would like more information on the courses and the workload .

Thank you

Hello,

I am currently enrolled in the program and will be done Fall 2020. I really like it so far. I completed my ADN Spring 2019 and started in the fall. The classes are 8 weeks long so each semester is basically split in 2. for example ~August to October is Fall I and October to December is Fall II. The classes go by pretty quickly. The ones I have had so far have a similar style, you can see what is due that week and plan around your schedule. Most assignments are due on Thursday and responses to peers are dues Sunday. The assignment can be time consuming, but are interesting. They range from discussion posts, to papers, projects and online clinical simulations. As long as you have a calendar or planner and set time aside to complete the assignments, you will be fine. Overall, I am really liking the program because I can work while taking classes. Haven't had issues yet.

Hope this was a little helpful.

Thank you so much for your reply. Could you email me at [email protected] please I need more information . Thank you so much

Does the school allow taking two classes instead of one or due to the workload, it's best to take one class at a time?

Thank you for sharing your experience! How was the ADN-RN-BSN journey overall?

I am currently torn between going for ADN-RN-BSN(3 years if everything goes smoothly) vs CSUSM TBSN(2.5 years). Did you work as an RN while being at CSUSM? Was it easy to apply with just an ADN?

Hope to hear from you soon!

Is the program doable with someone working full time?

For anyone that is in the RN-BSN program at CSUSM or recently completed this program (since COVID-19), would you recommend this program?  Is there a lot of group work involved during the program? I am trying to decide between CSUF RN-BSN, CSUDH RN-BSN and CSUSM programs. Any advice/info/tips is greatly appreciated.
