California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) ABSN Spring 2025

Hello! I wanted to make a post for everyone applying to CSUSM for the ABSN Spring 2025 cohort. I submitted my application and just received my official evaluation worksheet. I have 45 points 🙂 this is my top choice school so I'm really excited and hoping to be admitted!

Thank you for making this thread - I was literally looking for one this morning!

Got my application confirmation email on 3/28 and submitted the application around mid-March. Received my evaluation sheet today and got 40 points!

Yay congratulations! I just got my official evaluation today too! I hope we both get in 🙂 I can't wait!! Are you applying to other schools too?

I only applied to CSU San Marcos and if I get in for Spring 2025, I might turn it down and be placed back in the pool for consideration for Fall 2025. I did look at other schools very briefly, and I might consider applying to them down the line, but hopefully I won't have to! What about you?

I have applied to CSUSM and National University. CSUSM is my first choice though!! I may look into other schools, but hoping I don't have to! That's funny you say that because I was also thinking about possibly turning down Spring 2025, if admitted, so I could be considered for Summer 2025 at the Temecula campus. I live in Temecula so it would be so much more convenient (the campus is literally walking distance), but honestly if I get admitted I think I will be so excited to start that I won't be able to wait haha 😂

I looked at National University last year but their NCLEX pass rate has dropped quite steeply the past few years 😬 TBH I think the shorter commute for Temecula campus is worth it for you! I read somewhere on here that clinicals are randomized though so some people have clinicals far from where they live even if there are locations closer to them. I would be driving in from SD and I'm not particularly excited about the northbound commute but I'll take it for what it is 😂

Login to my CSUSM account and found that my application status still shows 'evaluated'

No nothing for update from the school....

Hopefully soon! It's only been a month since the application closed so they're probably just finishing up the last of the evals for people who submitted closer to the deadline. I saw someone mention on a previous thread that they started rolling out admissions after the fall semester starts because they're busy getting new students situated. Fingers crossed!

I know I started this thread... BUT I actually got an email after my points were evaluated and was accepted into the Summer 2024 cohort!! I am about 2 weeks away from finishing my 1st semester here at CSUSM School of Nursing and I absolutely LOVE it. The school and facility are amazing here! I hope you are all accepted and I hope to meet you when you start in the Spring :) Good luck to everyone!!

I meant "faculty" not facility haha

Well they emailed me and asked if I wanted to start nursing school early (in the Summer) and I replied ABSOLUTELY! If given the opportunity why not start earlier?! Means I can get into my nursing career earlier!! I wanted to start as soon as possible, but Spring 2025 was the soonest I could apply for when I did 🙂
