California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) ABSN Spring 2025

Hello! I wanted to make a post for everyone applying to CSUSM for the ABSN Spring 2025 cohort. I submitted my application and just received my official evaluation worksheet. I have 45 points 🙂 this is my top choice school so I'm really excited and hoping to be admitted!

So how it is the first semester? And are you having finals? How many classes in the first semester? 

Plus you doing clinical hours already?

I know I was so excited and COULD NOT believe it! I look forward to seeing all the acceptances coming for you all soon!

I am currently in week 8 of 10. Finals will happen on week 10!

First semester has been great... lots to learn, many platforms to figure out, but overall amazing! I am in 6 classes, so it has at times been overwhelming since its a Summer semester (16 weeks into 10 weeks). But honestly you just get through it and it is SOOO worth it 🙂 

We are doing clinical hours too! It is awesome to put what you have learned into practice!

OMG congratulations!! hope nursing school has been treating you well 🙂 Do you mind me asking how long it took for you to receive an acceptance after you received your eval sheet? I just got mine today and getting anxious to start hearing back from schools

Wow, that's crazy! I'm glad it worked out for you so perfectly with timing and it's definitely a big bonus that you get to stay in Temecula! Good luck with finals and keep us posted on how nursing school is! 🙂

My student portal still says "application completed" and I haven't received an evaluation worksheet yet. Does that probably mean I'm not being considered? I submitted my application on the day of the deadline.

According to the CSU website, the deadline is at 11:59PM on the last day the application is available so you're likely fine - I imagine that they do evaluations in the order of applications received so you might just be near the end of their list and they probably got an increase in applications that last week too. If you feel inclined to double check, you could try calling the admissions office to confirm they received your application or get an ETA!

took more than 2 weeks to get my evaluation sheets -.-

Just received my conditional admission to the program!

I just checked mycsusm portal and saw I was conditionally accepted as well! Does anyone know when the deadline is to accept/decline?

It's 2 weeks from the date that you received the offer letter. If you're waiting to hear back from other schools, I hope you get the results soon!

Thank you!! I just received my official offer letter today. Unfortunately most of the programs I'm waiting on don't release decisions until end of Oct/early Nov so it's looking like CSUSM will be a great backup option. I'm just happy to be able to stay in California!
