California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) ABSN Fall 2024

Published

I'm aiming to get into the Fall 2024 cohort and didn't see a thread so I thought I'd make one ?Good luck to everyone applying and hopefully I get to meet some of you next fall!

I hope people who've applied previously can help me with some questions:

  • I'm not due to be done with the pre-nursing core until May 2024. Will that be soon enough to get in by Fall?
  • I got a C for a class which fulfills "CSU GE Area: A2 - Written Communication" according to the assist.org sheet. I've since moved and my local community college doesn't list any articulations. Would a normal-looking, A2-fulfilling English Reading and Comp work? It just seems so weird to me that my local CC wouldn't have something that would fulfill this req for CSUSM.
  • I took gen chem + lab at a UC but I don't see any articulation agreements anywhere saying it counts for the chem requirements. https://www.CSUSM.edu/el/programs/health-medical/bsnursingaccelerated/ says: "If an integrated chemistry course with a lab that covers inorganic, organic and biochemistry is not available at your institution, ideally we are looking for a general chemistry course with lab (not an intro to general chemistry) or an organic chemistry course with lab." Will my gen chem + lab work for them?
  • The webpage says "Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to meet individually with all prospective students to review transcripts." My question is: seriously? Isn't there anyone at CSUSM I can shoot an email to so I can be sure my classes are acceptable to them?

I applied for this cohort and am really hoping to get in I scored 39 points total. I'm hoping it's high enough for the program.

@alenz509

Did you receive your evaluation sheet back?

@econtr14 Yes I did. Have you?

@alenz509 I have not, when did you submit your application?

@econtr14 I applied on November 26th and got my evaluation on February 2nd . Check your junk email too.

@alenz509 I see, I submitted mine mid-January so that's probably why I haven't received mine yet. I think 39 points is solid, we'll see if other students start sharing their stats to see where we're at. Best of luck ?

Specializes in NA.

Received my eval sheet with 45 points.

@Ellieellie that's a really good score. I wish I scored higher on my TEAS so I would have ended up with more points.

Do your application statuses still say "completed" or did they switch to "evaluated" like mine?

@econtr14 Mine also says evaluated.

Gotcha, I wonder when admission decisions will start rolling out. Is there a timeline?
