California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) ABSN Fall 2024

Published

I'm aiming to get into the Fall 2024 cohort and didn't see a thread so I thought I'd make one ?Good luck to everyone applying and hopefully I get to meet some of you next fall!

I hope people who've applied previously can help me with some questions:

  • I'm not due to be done with the pre-nursing core until May 2024. Will that be soon enough to get in by Fall?
  • I got a C for a class which fulfills "CSU GE Area: A2 - Written Communication" according to the assist.org sheet. I've since moved and my local community college doesn't list any articulations. Would a normal-looking, A2-fulfilling English Reading and Comp work? It just seems so weird to me that my local CC wouldn't have something that would fulfill this req for CSUSM.
  • I took gen chem + lab at a UC but I don't see any articulation agreements anywhere saying it counts for the chem requirements. https://www.CSUSM.edu/el/programs/health-medical/bsnursingaccelerated/ says: "If an integrated chemistry course with a lab that covers inorganic, organic and biochemistry is not available at your institution, ideally we are looking for a general chemistry course with lab (not an intro to general chemistry) or an organic chemistry course with lab." Will my gen chem + lab work for them?
  • The webpage says "Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to meet individually with all prospective students to review transcripts." My question is: seriously? Isn't there anyone at CSUSM I can shoot an email to so I can be sure my classes are acceptable to them?

Anyone hear back?

They are still going through applications so I think it'll be another couple weeks! I emailed admissions and this is what they said:

"Admissions offers will go out, after all applications are reviewed who met the application deadline,  to the top 60 students.

You will not hear anything unless you are admitted.

You will remain on the points grid for admission consideration for 1 calendar year from application submission."

Hi everyone!

I got my eval back with 36 points. Looking at the past cohort averages I'm pretty much average on the points LOL looking forward to hearing back and good luck to everyone!

Has anyone been to visit the campus or know anyone that's done the program? I have so many questions! I just found out yesterday I got into CSUF so I'm excited about that but *fingers crossed* I get into CSUSM and Northridge also so I can choose which program I think will be best for me!

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find my evaluation sheet? I tried checking my email and the spam folder but I couldn't find it - thanks you!

@kle The evaluation sheet is emailed to you by the Extended Learning department. If you submitted your application closer to the deadline, maybe they haven't gotten to it yet. I would call and ask, they're really helpful!

For those granted admission, when do you have to accept/decline admission. Congrats again on this opportunity!

I just got my evaluation worksheet this morning. Wish they'd email us either way but sounds like you only hear back if you got in?? Good luck everybody! Please share if you get in!

I submitted mine Jan 3 but had a system error with my official transcripts for one of my schools so it delayed my application to be completed around the deadline.

I don't think we will hear about acceptances until starting the last week of April. I looked at the thread from Fall of 2023 and people received acceptances starting around April 21st. Does anyone know how many people apply each term?

I still have not received an eval sheet e-mail. But I applied close to the deadline in February, is anyone in same boat?

Same here, I applied right around the deadline, ran into some transcript submission issues, and haven't heard back yet.
