CSUSM ABSN Summer 2020

Updated:   Published

Hi all,

Looking to apply this month for Summer 2020! Anyone else on the same boat? I am currently taking my last class so I expect to update my transcript when grades are posted mid-Decemeber. Anyone from previous cohorts had an issue with this?

I'm a little anxious about my points- I'm in the low 30s but hopefully it will be less competitive in Summer/fall!

I think I would make the same decision again to move to Murrieta. It's not pretty but it's just two years.

Thanks for all the advice, it's really helpful and I appreciate it immensely. Now to see if I get in...

My advisor just emailed and told me that they won't be admitting for another couple of weeks!

Hi there, I just received my evaluation worksheet this afternoon. I met all the course requirements except for two courses which was ANTH 301 and PHIL 345. I'm from Nor Cal, and I am finding it difficult to find the course equivalent through Assit.org. For now, my total points are 24.

Hi,

If I'm not mistaken, ANTH 301 and PHIL 345 are the required courses we have to take at CSUSM. Those should be part of the first semester courses.

I noticed that these two courses were under that section where we are supposed to take it by our third semester of nursing school. Did you get your evaluation back? Have you completed these two courses yet, or are they marked as Need to Meet Requirement (red)?

Finally made an account after weeks of stalking this forum and the past cohort's threads lol. I'm graduating in the Spring from CSUSM and my evaluation was 33 points. I'm feeling a little confident judging on past cohort's admission statistics, but also super anxious because this will be my third time applying and I don't want to get my hopes up.

Specializes in Undecided, but possibly rehab nursing!.

Hi my fellow future RNs! I truly hope we all meet up this summer as the new 2020 cohort! I’m wondering if there’s a way to join this thread? Really love the idea of keeping one another in the loop ? TIA!

Specializes in NICU.

I'm in the low 30s as well. I was right on the edge of what they accepted last year for the spring cohort, yet didn't make it for this years! So many people had crazy high point averages in the 40s. I'm hoping that summer will be less competitive!!! Fingers crossed for us ?

I'm also a rollover applicant from the super-competitive Spring cohort. For reference, I had a TEAS score of 89, a 3.60 pre-nursing GPA, and an evaluation score of 33. It seems like the average score for each cohort keeps going up, so I don't know how competitive that is anymore, but I am wishing everyone the best of luck!

You just joined it! ?

I received my evaluation today after applying a day before the priority deadline. According to the thread from last year, in 2019 the first round of acceptances went out January 17th... good luck everyone!

I haven't taken those courses since they're scheduled to be taken during the first semester of the program (if you haven't taken them already). Info on this can be found on the ABSN website under the "Course Sequence" section. ? Hope this helps!

Hi everyone! I submitted my application on 11/26 and I just got my evaluation worksheet yesterday. I was given more points than I expected! (34 points) I'm so anxious, but now I'm at least allowing myself to be a little optimistic ? Has anyone heard anything about the first wave of admissions yet?

They told me in an email that they hoped to send out the first wave out next week!
