Hi all, anyone planning on applying to CSUSM's ABSN for Fall of 2021?
I think my overall points are between 40-41, do you think it's a safe score? I was wondering if I should take the TEAS exam again, I got 80.7, but I'm completely exhausted. I completed all the 8 prerequisites courses and TEAS in only 12 months and I need some rest, LOL
Hej,
I am also still waiting. However, my circumstances are a bit more complicated as my previous degree is from the UK. Also, I still have to finish final 2 prerequisites, but I was told to apply now to get the process started. I am hopeful for Spring 2022 start (unless my some miracle my application gets pulled forward to Fall 2021). I should have 4.0 on prereqs, about 3.8 last 60 units and I got 84 on TEAS. I could take TEAS again, but I am hoping my points will be high enough so I don't need to. I sat for TEAS w/o having taken AP II and Microbiology so I had to do a lot of learning in 5 weeks (instead of reviewing) : /
By my calculation- I should have around 42 points once all is said and done.
Anyone else here with foreign degrees?
Also- anyone else applying early w/o all prereqs? If so, how do you supplement your application later with finished prereqs?

I just got offered a spot for Summer 2021, but since I live in Oceanside I would prefer to attend San Marcos campus which is closer to home and cuts down on commute time. I have 45 points and hope I can be admitted for the fall 2021 cohort because my priority is to start my ABSN program this year. What you guys think?
I’ve been told lectures are only one day a week and skills lab and clinicals rotate every other week so it would only be at the campus at most twice a week. I also heard riverside county clinicals are common for the San Marcos cohorts too so it doesn’t matter too much where you live for that. Might be worth it to start early to end early!

Hi @Abd654, thank you very much for your response, however I had until last Friday to decide and I declined the offer. I can’t wait to hear back for the Fall acceptances.
Good luck everyone.

There was a waiting period of a few weeks for me. And the offer of a spot was for Summer, which I declined. I have 49 points btw, but I’ve accepted at a different school for Fall

Same for me, I received the offer a couple of weeks after receiving the score sheet and the spot was for Summer.
Hi other pre-nursing folks!
Like everyone here, I applied for the Fall '21 cohort, however based on my stats, I do not believe I will be accepted for fall. I'm curious if anyone here submitted an app to the ABSN program for a previous semester and then improved their stats and got in for Summer or fall?
The reason I ask is because I am taking 15 units this semester, and am confident that I'll be finishing the semester with a 4.0. So when I submit my updated transcripts, I should be getting a bunch of extra points in the last 60 GPA category (I think it was a 6 point increase), which would put me at a score that might make me a competitive applicant.
For some background, my GPA for my bachelors was terrible, but since I returned to school for nursing pre-reqs I've been pulling all A's. TEAS score was a 93.3. Oh and I have not received my evaluation sheet back yet.

Hi! I also would be very interested hearing about this (since I still have to take 1 prereq course, my initial score- inevitably- won't be the 'real' one).
May I ask- what makes you think you won't get it for Fall? You did really well on TEAS.
Interestingly, It really seems like CSUSM needs people for the Summer' 21 cohort... so many here have been enticed with an offer for an earlier start.
I am hoping to get my points soon, so at least I know where I stand.
Cheerios!

Hi! I applied end of Feb and still waiting to hear back also. Based on everyone's posts, it looks like they take the full 9weeks to review.
