CSUSM ABSN Fall 2021

Hi all, anyone planning on applying to CSUSM's ABSN for Fall of 2021?

I think my overall points are between 40-41, do you think it's a safe score? I was wondering if I should take the TEAS exam again, I got 80.7, but I'm completely exhausted. I completed all the 8 prerequisites courses and TEAS in only 12 months and I need some rest, LOL

Hello, thank you for creating this thread! I am applying as well for fall 2021.

That seems like a great score but something you can do is to look at the average statistics that they have posted on the site to give you a better idea of what is safe ? The good thing is that CSUSM lets you retake the TEAS without a limit and will take the highest one so that's something to think about too.

Wishing you all the best and know that your hard work will pay off #futurenurse @Rominha!

Hi I am applying as well! I think you have a great chance judging from the past few year's statistics. Good luck to you!

Would you guys want to share stats? Might be helpful.

Here is mine:
- Pre-req GPA 4.0
- Last 60 units GPA 3.86
- TEAS 80.7%

Thank you and good luck!

Hi! Thank you for starting this thread. I am also applying for Fall 2021 and should have around a 40-41 as well.

I have a pre-req GPA of 3.7, last 60 of 3.77, and 94.6% on the TEAS.

Good luck everyone!! ?

Hi guys!

I am also applying to Fall but I am having trouble deciphering the prereqs required:

1) in section A3 with critical thinking/reading, would this be likely satisfied with an english 200 class? what are you guys using to satisfy this one?

2) do all 3 Chemistry (gen chem, Ochem, and bchem) ALL count towards GPA?

My stats: pre-req GPA 3.65?, last 60: 3.45, TEAS: 94%

Hi! So I actually already applied for the Summer 2021 start, but didn't get my final grades back in time until I think they already filled that cohort, so my application should roll over into fall 2021. But anyways, because of this I already got my evaluation sheet which says which classes they used for each pre-req.

For Chemistry, they just pick one. I took all three also (gen chem, ochem and biochem), and they picked one quarter of organic Chemistry for me. I believe they just take the highest grade of Chemistry with lab that you have.

For critical thinking, I was also unsure about this so I ended up taking an Intro to logic class and they used that grade. I think classes can't count for two requirements (not 100% sure about this), so IDK if english would cover it if that is the same english class used for the writing requirement. But if it's a different course then maybe it would work I'm not sure. If you're wondering about whether or not a specific class will fulfill the requirement, you can always email them to double check, I did that with one of the requirements. I hope that was helpful!

Thanks for the info, you're a true hero @hayleynt! Sorry about the circumstance you faced, I could see that being frustrating. One last Q, how long did you have for those grades to clear? Asking as I might have to take a course to fulfill this and grades might not be out until May

You're welcome! So the Summer application was due Sept 30, and they started releasing admissions decisions late Nov. I didn't finish my classes until mid Dec, and then I got my grades a couple weeks later and it also took an additional couple weeks for them to receive my official transcripts from the semester (early Jan), and then I got my evaluation sheet late Jan. However, I actually just found out this morning that I got admitted to the Summer start! I totally thought it was too late. So if you do end up having to wait until May or even June for your grades that probably will be totally fine! It seems like they usually do multiple rounds of acceptances before filling the cohort. I wish you the best of luck!

Hey guys,

How do you calculate the last 60 units GPA?

Do we include the prerequisites as well?
