CSUSM ABSN FALL 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

Hi, Starting this for anyone applying to the FALL 2020 cohort at CSUSM. I think the deadline is March 11th. Good luck everyone!

I’m also still waiting for the evaluation. I think it’s a little delayed because of everything going on understandably. I thought some people said it too two weeks Under normal circumstances, for the eval. My guess is that we’ll still find out if we got in around end of May though. They did say I their email about Fall being in San Marcos, that they are working from home.

Yeah I’m still waiting for the evaluation. Do you guys think they’ll be delayed because of the whole COVID thing?

Maybe. I think it’s a high possibility

Damn May. Definitely going to play the waiting game

I'm signed up to re-take the TEAS exam in early May....however not sure if it's going to be cancelled due to COVID-19...anyone have their TEAS exams cancelled already that were supposed to take it in order to apply for the program?? If so, any word from CSUSM on what's going to happen with that??

Hey! Have you heard if your test has been cancelled? I'm on the same boat, trying retake my TEAS in May. Univ of Phoenix said they are not scheduling any exams at the moment (even though they're still on ATI register website) So I'm looking at taking it at a PSI center here in San Diego.

Yeah my test was cancelled. I got an email with a phone number to call to reschedule it. I'm rescheduled to take it May 29th now!

Oh nice! Where are you taking your exam?

I submitted my application with an okay TEAS exam score but want to retake it as soon as I can. ?

I am taking it at University of Phoenix ? and I'm in the same boat. I got like a 77% my first time which landed me with a total of 32 points (which would've been plenty last year) but it's definitely not enough now to get into the program this year! I feel like in order to get in, you need to have a solid 35 plus points...and 35 is on the lower end. Wishing you luck!!

SAME! haha I got a 76% the first time but totaled my points to like 29. So I'm hoping to dedicate more time and achieve a higher score this time around. And yes, definitely reaching to have 35+ points too! Good luck to you as well!! ?

Has anyone heard anything yet? Evals? Any ideas of when they'll notify the first wave of acceptances or what that cut off point might be? Wish we knew how many they'd take and what a minimum point would be of those who applied by the priority deadline... Good luck to everyone! This is nerve wracking:)

Hi!

I chatted with my advisor the other day relating to updating my TEAS exam score once I take it again (which is at the end of May) and she said that hopefully by then they will be sending out acceptances for fall. My guess is either end of May or more towards June/July they'll start sending out letters! I know based on last cohort (Summer) the cut off was 33 points (Spring was 35). The competition is getting higher each year! I have 32 points and didn't make it into the Summer so am hoping to up my TEAS to get into the high 30s low 40s hopefully! Good luck!! ?

I bought the smart prep this time on the TEAS website as well as the study guide and it's been a huge help for studying! You should look into it if you haven't yet! They also have a 6-week study plan that I'm following along with to keep myself busy and committed..its so hard right now during this quarantine!! For my first exam I just used the Mometrix book, old notes and random websites and TEAS apps... Hoping that changing up my study supplies will land me with a much higher score!!
