Hey everyone!
Well we made it mighty far and now we are done with pre reqs and on to applying!
I am applying to the 2012 cohort and would like to invite everyone else that is applying to post here for any questions, concerns or comments!
Well I am about to put in my application. So far I have all pre reqs done, pending algebra this winter intersession. My Teas test is done, my letters of rec are on their way and basically all I am waiting for is final transcripts!
Good luck to everyone who applied
Let the wait begin!
OH that is pretty close. I am assuming that ARMC is more north? I just moved to SB county and so I am unfamiliar about the area.
So you transferred to CSUSB last year and finished pre reqs there? At SOAR, we had one of the instructors come and show us a powerpoint that was, in my opinion, way more in depth than the one they had at the advising session. Like the advising session I went to last September didn't have the amount of points each category was. It also didn't list the stats of fall 2011 or winter 2012 cohorts. It even gave average scores admitted and the range of GPA and TEAS scores.
Where did you hear lower stats get accepted? I have seen the ranges on this website around 3.6 and above. A few didn't get accepted with that score (I believe they lacked the county points or supplemental points, but that is only a guess as to why they got denied). But I wouldn't stress out. The average of admitted students in the last two cohorts were 3.6 or around there. Now that is the average, not cut off. And I am sure you have points in all categories then I think your fine. I believe we will all get in, honestly. I think as long as your GPA is above 3.5 and your TEAS is above 80% that will at least guarantee competition. And as long as you have the supplemental points as well.
***Also do not forget that a lot other schools already made decisions and that this school is mainly a back for people with really high scores. That being said, a lot of transfers are the bulk of the competition and if they are accepted somewhere else, and they don't pay the deposit, then their application is out. That eliminates a lot of competition.
It is really hard to find a thread to compare to. I have searched this website up and down and have found very little resources to compare ourselves to. Hopefully this thread will help others in the future.
I wonder if they have even started evaluating like the people who have turned everything in. Whether they were people done and waiting or if they received transcripts for the IP (in progress) people and started evaluating them as well. When I emailed the dept to verify my app was complete, they listed almost everything in my application. From the GPA they calculated to the TEAS to who the letters of rec were from. To me, that sounds like my application is at least been looked at and grades have been calculated. Hopefully that means they have at least started the evaluation process and that they are making an excel sheet of accepted students as we speak.
No it's actually South of CSUSB. Toward the Colton area. Yes I am a transfer, I just had to take Chem 208 at CSUSB. Ah yes, we were supposed to get that advising in SOAR but the instructor didn't make it. Instead, some of the peer advisors simply answered a few questions and left. I heard about those stats on this website somewhere.
I feel exactly the same way! I keep wondering if they have started the process. You think since July 2nd is right around the corner they would probably have some kind of idea where we stand. If only we could know!
Oh! And one question (for you, or anyone else that may know), for the billingual proficiency, I understand that 3 years of high school foreign language qualify, but do you know what the grades in those classes have to be?
Oh man. I am going to really need to get to know the area if I get in. I thought it was north. Oops.
We had an instructor and peer advisors there. Everyone was really helpful. They were the people I asked about my stats and they said not to worry. I hope they are right!
Yes, I am pretty sure the way they emailed me that they have started the process. I think they just need to wait for everyone who postmarks their transcripts July 2nd (last minute ha!) to get their grades in. Spring semester/quarter should be done everywhere by now! I am sure that they will wait until everyone is evaluated and put us all on a excel spread sheet and taking the top 45 people. I wonder how many alternates there are.
I would like to know where I stand since this website is a very small sample of what there could be. Sometimes I tell myself not to worry and that I will get in, but then again, who knows? Its very nerve racking, this waiting. Its messing with me! I cannot really relax this summer until I know. I am a very impatient person (can you tell? lol) But hopefully they stick to the mid July being it. If they post a list up, I will drive down a take a pic of it.
As for the proficiency, I think as long as your school gave you credit, as in you passed, then its ok. I mean you can't have spanish 1, 2, and 3 with all Fs, ya know? Or even Ds for that matter. I think as long as you passed each year, your ok. But you might want to call the dept to ask. Too late now though, but you can call Monday, which is funny since its the last date to turn in everything I bet a bunch of people will be calling that day.
They emailed you? Did you ask or was it like a confirmation email? I did not receive one, should I be worried? I know exactly what you mean! I feel like I cannot do anything all summer until I Know. My boyfriend does not understand and he thinks I am obsessing. Then I come on here and I'm like, see it's normal! If you happen to see that the list is up, can you please let me know? I will do the same because I will probably start driving down there to check once it gets nearer. I'm actually missing out on a 3 week vacation in Canada because of this. Who knows, if it comes early I may be able to go still! Well what happened is I got A's and B's for Spanish 1,2, and half of 3, then the very last quarter i received a D (On hospital leave.. caused grades to drop). It would be unfortunate to waste all those 2 and a half years. So close, I may have to ask about that and maybe petition or something for next quarter if this fall does not work out.
No I asked for the confirmation. I basically asked if my BSN application was complete what what was the GPA was that they calculated. Just email them in the morning, Clayton would be the one to email. That is who got back to me.
Luck you! Canada. WOW I wish I can get out of the state let alone the country. Maybe if you go, you can get your mind off things. Easier said than done, I know.
I thought I too was the only obsessed one on here, until you showed up. I was basically replying to myself for awhile there. My fiancee too, doesn't understand but, that is typical of our SOs. We will go back to sane as soon as those acceptances letters are in our hands! And yes, if either of us hears or sees the list posted up, we sure should post it up. I was planning on calling the 15th and asking if it was up, if not then I will call the 20th. I am not patient enough for snail mail. lol
As for your HS Spanish issue. At least you turned it in and have an opportunity to ask them this Monday. If they don't take it then I wouldn't worry because it is only one extra dinky point. Which in the scheme of things isn't worth it. I have the same issue with my foreign language too. I took 2 years of ASL because that is all that was offered. Of course I graduate and now they are offering 3 years. Typical. So I doubt they will take my foreign language.
I hope that you wouldn't have to resort to petitioning. Winter quarter is a much easier quarter to get into. If fall isn't it then it will be winter.
Gosh... 3 more weeks. This is going to be the worst 3 weeks ever! I am going to get stuff done for RCC, to keep myself busy. Hopefully. -_-
Since I have too much time on my hands. I figure that the people who sent their transcripts post marked yesterday, may take up until Friday to get to them.
Ok so that means that they have all of next week to input grades and evaluate.
Then comes the following Monday, which is technically 'mid-July.' I will call them and see if the list is up. If not, I will call early the following Friday. Hopefully it is up then and we can all drive down and hopefully see our names! Sounds like a plan eh?
Also, I would like to note that the nursing dept checks with the university mid July. I am wondering why? I figure that they check to make sure we were accepted and paid the deposit. Hopefully that knocks a lot of competition out!
Hahaha now time for me to go to the gym.
Lets keep our fingers crossed guys!

Thank you! It is so nice to talk to others that are in my boat. ARMC is about ...15-20 minutes from campus. and about 2 minutes from my house. Soar or the advising session? I attended soar back in like...june of last year and i attended the advising session in I want to say Feb. My soar orientation did not have a nursing advising. The instructor never showed up.
I have heard people with lower stats get accepted, and those with higher stats that did not get accepted. So I feel like it's really a toss up in my case. I'm already studying for the next Teas just in case. It's in September.
