CSUSB Fall 2012 Hopefuls

Published

Hey everyone!

Well we made it mighty far and now we are done with pre reqs and on to applying!

I am applying to the 2012 cohort and would like to invite everyone else that is applying to post here for any questions, concerns or comments!

Well I am about to put in my application. So far I have all pre reqs done, pending algebra this winter intersession. My Teas test is done, my letters of rec are on their way and basically all I am waiting for is final transcripts!

Good luck to everyone who applied

Let the wait begin!

@alvat: Wow! That windy! Ugh, I will have to bring a hat.

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH tarantulas!? I am like deathly afraid of spiders! I will touch anything but a spider! I can't even kill them! One time there I was taking vital signs of this patient and a big spider was on the floor and I seriously like ran across the room and told him he would have to kill it. He was laughing at me. He was really cool and I have had him before and was totally alert, BRP etc...I ended up trying to run it over with the vital sign machine! Didn't work but it went the opposite way of the pt.

Your shopping....for insurance! Sounds fun. Lol. And it is very pricey. Did you call the clinic on campus? Maybe they can cover insurance for cheap that is good enough for the school?! I would check it out.

Oh the road map has two classes at at the same time? Which ones? The ones that are numbered one after the other (200, 201) I noticed the lower number is lecture and the higher number is lab. But looking at the road map, if that is truly what we go by then the classes do not look as loaded as I thought they would be. ADN programs take like 15-18 units of 4-5 nursing classes per semester. If you have most of the capstones done, you will still be only taking max of 3-4 classes a quarter. Which is good. I even went on my coyote and searched the nursing courses for fall. I saw that CSUSB BSN program is taking 45 students. :)

I just so happened to be sitting for a pt the other day and I just happened to be looking at the newspaper the school puts out and it said something about the campus being closed from the 3rd to the 8th. If admin was closed, I am pretty sure the dept was closed. Which means that they still will not be done til the end of next week putting grades in. Sounds like the do final checks around the 15 (or in the case of this year the 16th) then they will be done. Ugh, I can't wait any longer either!

I want to know if I (we) are in!!!!!! This is torture.

So I heard the list is up!?

I hadn't heard that but I'm going to have to follow up on that for sure!!!

My friend said her friend who already had automatic acceptance was told that the list was up so I'm dying to find out now!! I'm gonna call as soon as the office opens tomorrow since I'm way too far from school right now lol

whats the automatic acceptance mean?

Well at CSUSB if your join the honors program straight out of high school you are guaranteed acceptance as long as you meet the requirements. I haven't been at school and I can't for sure say its up ( sorry for the disappointment if its not ) but I was just told it was up so I'm calling the nursing dept first thing in the morning and I have a friend that works at a hospital nearby so she'll be stopping by and taking pictures for me if it is up and I will post it as soon as I can.

oh i see.

well does your friends friend have the pre reqs done? i know that automatic acceptance into the program from high school, but that just means that they haven't done pre reqs yet but are guaranteed when they are done with pre reqs to enter. or did they enter like a year ago and just finished their pre reqs and are now in?

im confused lol. well i wonder how many seats are dedicated to that portion of students....

anyway i hope they are right and the list is up! rcc needs certain things like kits and uniforms ordered by the 16th and so the sooner i hear from CSUSB the sooner the better

Yeah, she did all the pre reqs and took her teas and is in. I remember at the advising session the advisor said there wasn't too many who get in through the honors program but there are no certain amt of spot reserved for them, it's just if they pass all their pre reqs with at least a C and get at least a 70 on their teas they're in.

I'm seriously not going to be able to sleep tonight lol

oh geez. luckily i am at work or else i wouldn't be able to sleep tonight either!

Here's the list guys!! :) GOOD LUCK!
