CSUS Spring 2011 hopeful

Published

I am planning to apply for Sac State's BSN program for Spring 2011. I wanted to get some advice from those who have been accepted for Fall 2010 since the selection criteria has changed. What was your total points, GPA, TEAS scores (if you don't mind posting)? Were you an alternate before getting in? If so, what number were you?

Also, is Sac State accepting 2011 transfer students? I'm a current student, but I just wanted to know to see what my chances are in getting accepted. I'm so nervous & just doubting myself so much! I heard the current cut off point as of now is 58pts & they're on alternate #54! Any advice or feedback would be great. Thanks!

Also, I don't think I have medi-cal insurance anymore..not sure. Any suggestions?

If you're 21 or older then you're not covered anymore. I called to make sure and that's what they said =/. I'm going to get medical insurance through the school. If you search health center on the website they should have some info about health insurance we can get through sac state. It's soooo expensive , but we gotta do what we gotta do!

Does anyone know how I erase my comment? I hate to leave a post out there that may leave a bad impression of our school, because it always had such high standards.

Hey guys,

Did any of you schedule an appointment for the drug and alcohol screening? What number did you use to schedule it?

Hello Everyone!

Thank you for providing such an awesome informations :)

I am an alternate who just got in, I hope you guys can help me a bit.I have very little time to get everything done at this time, may be coz i am freaking out, i am doing things incorrectly.

Can anyone please help me locate the link to order equipment?

Also, For Immunizations, it says:

Please read the instructions provided in the Clinical

Nursing Requirements section of the Student Handbook

prior to completing the requirements below.

I am sorry to bugg you guys , but I am unable to access the Student Handbook.

I really hope someone can help me out.

THanks a lot :)

Congrats want to become nurse! The student handbook just says that you need to turn in all documents by the deadline or you'll risk being dropped, and it lists immunizations you need to have which can also be found on your checklist. I wouldn't worry too much about the handbook right now. Just take care of your pre-entry checklist. You'll have access to the handbook once they add you to the nursing source page on SacCT. Did you receive the email about registration info? When do you register?

The uniform & equipment link should be on new student orientation website. Let me know if you can't find it & I'll send you the link :).

Thank you very much roxy922 :), Congrats to you too:) The lists of immunizations are in the checklist, I though they had special instruction for PPD test..... to be honest i don't have health insurance so that I do not want to mess up in the medical tests.

Yes, i received an email for registration, it says Dec 16th, but i won't be able to attend it because I haven't attended the orientation yet.Did you attend the university orientation already?

thank you sooooooo much :)

Thank you roxy,so nice of you :). Yes, I found the information on the website, thanks a lot!!

No problem, glad to help :). I'm a current student at Sac State so I had my 2 step PPD done at the student health center for free. They also did my varicella zoster titer and flu vaccine for free. Are you going to get the domestic student health plan at sac state? I'm planning to get that, but the effective start date is 2/1/11, and we start school a week before that so I emailed the nursing department to ask if that was ok...just waiting on their reply.

Thank you very much. Since I am not a student at Sac State, I won't get to do it at the student health center. So for PPD, its two step test only or do they need titer as well? since this is to be done two weeks apart,i am running out of time. Domestic student health plan at sac state sounds good, if the nursing dept accepts that, it would be great. You are really helpfun! thanks a bunch :D

The 2 step is when they do a skin test (poke your skin with a needle) then you come back in 2-3 days to examine your arm & determine if it's a positive or negative test, then they make you come back in 2-3 weeks to do the same process all over again. Nursing dept sent us an email saying we only need to provide proof of our first step PPD results by Jan 7th & turn in our second one as soon as we get it. When you make an appt just ask for a two step and they'll take care of everything. Yeah no problem. I'm also freaking out about meeting the deadlines lol there's soo much to do! & we're nursing classmates now so gotta help each other out haha :).

Want to become nurse, do you remember what time they said you can register on Dec 16th? I'm just trying to see if everyone got assigned the same date and time to register.
