I am planning to apply for Sac State's BSN program for Spring 2011. I wanted to get some advice from those who have been accepted for Fall 2010 since the selection criteria has changed. What was your total points, GPA, TEAS scores (if you don't mind posting)? Were you an alternate before getting in? If so, what number were you?
Also, is Sac State accepting 2011 transfer students? I'm a current student, but I just wanted to know to see what my chances are in getting accepted. I'm so nervous & just doubting myself so much! I heard the current cut off point as of now is 58pts & they're on alternate #54! Any advice or feedback would be great. Thanks!

Hi there,
I just graduated from Sac State's BSN this may. Not sure about all your questions but I did hear they were not accepting transfer students any longer. Hope that helps. Goodluck!

I called last week, and they confirmed that they are not taking any transfers, just current students. I think that greatly increases your chances of getting accepting, since the applicant pool will be much smaller.
Thanks Lauren & slrberry! Slrberry did you call the nursing dept or admissions? I called admissions last week & they kept saying they didn't know if they were going to accept transfers. But yes, that will increase my chances of getting in. Are you also applying to their program?
I called the nursing department directly. No I wont be applying because I am not a current student. I may, however apply in the fall of 2011 if I dont get into the other schools I will be applying for in spring 2011.

I called today, and the lady who reviews the applications said that they will most likely accept the transfew applicants. Also, she said that only 120 - 150 ppl applied this time. According to her, this is the lowest applicat pool she has ever seen :). Yey for us, good chance of getting in!!!
Thank you so much for the info lanakopp! I've been wanting to know how many people applied. Wow I can't believe only 130-150 people applied! Are you going to Sac State right now?

The CSU system got some money from the state recently, so it's possible that they can take some transfer students now, although it may be a limited number.
Roxy222,
The number that i gave is the number of students who applied including transfer students. ----, the lady who revies the apps, said that it was approved by (some aouthority) to accept tranfer students this time around, however, this was a written approval. It has not been announced yet, but she thinks that it will get announced officially in the next couple of days. The reason i was asking whether the transfer students will be accepted is because i just wanted to find out what my chances were. Then, she told me the actual number of applicants, which i thought was very nice of her to do. I have her direct phone number. Sometimes its hard to reach her. The first time i called i had to leave a message and she gave me a call back. Today, she picked up the phone right away :). The receptionist is not very helpful because she does not know everything, that is why she had to reffer me to ----. And, no im not a transfer student. Well, i was once, but not as of now. This is my first semester at sac state. I transfered early just in case :) We have a good chance because the numbers look very good. Hopefully this helps you.

This was totally helpful! I'm sooooooooo worried that my points aren't high enough, but we'll just see what happens. I just hate waiting. I wonder if they'll have the results sooner since there are less applicants. Do you know how many students they are accepting this sem? I know they usually admit 60, but last semester they got approved to accept 80 students. The last time I emailed ------ was about a month ago and she said they weren't sure how many students they were accepting yet. Hoping for 80 so that would definitely help increase our chances more :). Thanks for the info again! If I find out anything I will surely post it here. Good luck & I hope we'll get in :).

I know someone who was 39th on the wait this for Fall 2010 and got in. She declined as she got in her first choice school.
The reason why the 39th on the waitlist got in is because 40 declines acceptance. It isnt this high every semester. The semester before only 3 declined. Usually its anywhere from 5 -20 who decline.
