CSUS Sacramento State Fall 2019

Hi guys! I created this page, for all students who are applying to Sacramento State Fall 2019 Nursing Program to share anything in regards to the application process.

Hey guys!

I'm currently a Sacramento State pre-nursing student applying for their Fall 2019 Nursing program. I didn't find a page regarding this, so I created it for those who are also applying as well!

Hey, guys!

I'm a first semester Sac State Nursing Student and a huge fan of this thread that happens each admission cycle. It's such a great forum to get support and info from others who are going through EXACTLY what you're going through. Encourage and get to know each other, you very well may be spending the next two years practically living with the people on this thread and they will end up becoming your family <3

I'm rooting for all of you! You've picked a phenomenal program to apply to. The faculty members are absolutely amazing and support you in any way they can. Also, you'll be surrounded by like-minded people who are some of the most intelligent and hardworking folks you've ever met. Even better than that is that they are all intensely dedicated to nursing school and the profession of nursing!

Keep your spirits up, don't let the anxiety get the better of you, and enjoy the last of your free time... As soon as you get that email, you'll be off and running to get ready for your program. Good luck!!!

Hey Dani!

Is it possible if you tell me the school hours? I’m working right now and I can only change my schedule if a bid comes up, which is rare. But if I know what time school ends and start at Sac state maybe I can change my work schedule to accommodate for school hours. Thank you

Although I created this forum and applied I doubt I am going to get into the Fall 2019 nursing program at Sac State, I got an 82.7% on my second attempt. I was really depressed for a while but came to the realization that I have one more attempt, so might as well use it! I'd like to say good luck to everyone applying this Fall 2019, you all are going to amazing nurses and murses! I'm going to apply for Spring 2020, maybe with a better TEAS score as well as my additional optional criteria to back me up! Best of luck you guys!

Hey!

Well, to be perfectly honest (and this will become your favorite phrase) it depends. The entire cohort is divided up into clinical sections and based on your section you’ll have different schedules and different clinical locations. I can tell you my own personal schedule, it won’t be very helpful. There’s no predicting what section you’ll actually end up in... Also, the “schedule” can change with very little heads up so don’t plan on making plans, lol. A skill that everyone has been developing this semester is flexibility. But anyway, here ya go. For reference I’m in section 3 rotating at the Dignity Facilities ?

Monday: 8-11 Nursing Care of Adults Lecture (N112)

Tuesday: 12-3 Clinical Prep Off Site (N112)

Wednesday: 6:30-2:30 Clinical Rotation Off Site (N112)

Thursday: 9-12 Comm/Skills/Assess Lecture (N113)

3-5:50 Intro to Professional Nursing Lecture (N111)

Friday: 8-5 Skills Lab (N113)

Don’t be fooled by my “mellow looking schedule”, it’s anything but…Honestly, VERY few people in the program work. I’d recommend not working if you can pull it off? Especially during frontloading. The first three weeks are like boot camp, you barely have time to breathe let alone think about your job!

Hello guys! Email was sent out for those who did not know. I can’t believe student #160 has 67 points (unverified). Sac state is so competitive. The suspense is killing me.

@Xoxonursing Does that mean that the person on the last spot on the waitlist has 67 points? Are #1-80 getting accepted and #81-160 on the waitlist?

I had 65 points so I just missed the waitlist... :(

The waitlist starts at #81 and above. Student #80 had 70 points and student #160 had 67 points. That means students between #80 and #160 only have a 3 point difference, which is much more competitive than spring 2019 :(. But yes, technically 67 points is the last spot on the waitlist. But even with 67 points, you are highly unlikely getting in. :’(

If I am wrong, please correct me :).

Hey guys!

I was totally curious to see what the thread for the next applying batch would look like here! I was on this site too when I applied. This is my first semester in the Nursing program. I think this site is wonderful btw.

If it helps any of you at all- you DO NOT have to get certified bilingual by a test evaluator on campus. I had a very gracious coworker at my old job evaluate me and write a letter (but yes I am bilingual). It took the pressure off and I was awarded extra points.

Also, yes this is a competitive program but you ALL have every opportunity and chance to get here. If you don't get in this time, it doesn't mean you won't get in at all. It took me three tries before I got here, and I was super close to giving up. I'm so happy I did not.

Best of luck to you all ?

Totally keep trying! I too got an 82 my first attempt but worked my way up and ended up with a 91 on my last try! The point is that you keep studying and improving! Do NOT give up, your future career depends on it!!! Best of luck to you!!!
