Effective Fall 2018, Sac State is changing their Selection Criteria for Admissions into the BSN program. I've created this thread for those folks that are planning on applying Fall 2018 to ask questions, share their thoughts, etc. I'm interested to know if the changes make it easier or harder to get accepted. I myself was planning on applying Fall 2018 but may decide to apply Spring 2018 if it's "easier" before the new changes are put into effect.
The selection criteria changes include NEW:
 Admission Point Assignments
 Minimum Admission Point Total
 Minimum Science GPA
 Adjusted Nursing GPA
 Standard Units
 Repeat Policy
 TEAS Points
 Optional Criteria Points

Hi everyone! I am planning to apply to Sac State's BSN program Spring of 2019.
I have taken my TEAS, and my highest attempt so far is 94% (I have one more attempt remaining). I don't know if this is enough to get into Sac State's program. My GPA is 4.0 unadjusted currently, but I am in A&P right now and my professor is horrible, so I am struggling to keep my A!! I also still need to take microbio, and I am not confident I could get an A on that. Can someone explain to me how the adjusted grade option works? Can I drop 2 science grades?
I believe I also qualify for the language points and volunteer experience, but I am still not confident that I will get in.
Hey Castrooboy, i'm in a similar situation as you: 4.0 unadjusted gpa (all classes completed), 93.3% TEAS with Volunteer experience and second language criteria. You'd think we'd be okay but given the current criteria, you never know.
Under current criteria, you can only drop one science course from your gpa.
Like you, my point totals come in above the Fall 2018 point cutoff, but like you, I am also nervous about what Spring 2019 will be like. I have been exchanging emails with Teri to voice my concerns regarding the new criteria system, as I think it's pretty unbalanced, and she has written me back saying that she agrees the cumulative effects of the new criteria need to be reviewed, although didn't specify what specifically they will reconsider. It sounds like there will be some sort of change made to the current (Fall 2018) criteria system, though what those changes might be, no one can say.
I'm not sure how to setup a new Spring 2019 forum, but perhaps we should start one so we can begin the conversation for that application period.

I've taken my last attempt for the TEAS recently, and I managed to get a 97.3%. I believe this would be enough for Sac State. I also emailed Teri, and she says that I qualify for the extra 8 points from the optional criteria! I definitely have high hopes. My first choice, however, is not Sac State. I really want to get into a program closer to the Bay Area.
Hi everyone, I'm a couple spots from getting off the waitlist. I don't have an enrollment date on my student center, so I'm not sure when to register for classes (and also which classes to sign up for). Teri said not to miss the chance to sign up for classes. Any help would be appreciated

If you are a second Bachelor's student you don't get accepted to the university unless you are accepted to the nursing program. You can't register until you are admitted to the school. You are 2nd Bachelor's right?
