CSUS Sac State Fall 2018

Published

Anyone applying for the Fall 2018 term? I know its still a little early but I am curious what peoples points look like with the new point system. It is completely different than before so I have no idea what to expect.

I'm planning to apply and I'll have 75 or 79 points, depending on whether I qualify as economically disadvantaged. I'm worried because I don't qualify for any other optional points. I think a lot of people will have an adjusted GPA of 4.0, making the TEAS score and optional points really important.

Thats what I am worried about also. If you dont have to count 2 grades that would give a lot of people a 4.0. I am gonna take my TEAS in a couple weeks so I am hoping I do really well. Ill need all the points I can get. Although I was told A lot of people have retaken multiple classes previously so this will not help them.

Hopefully I can get in with 77 or 81 points.

GPA: 4.0 (omitted 2 grades) = 50

TEAS: 84.8 = 11

Optional Criteria: Qualifies for all 20 (maybe not low income) but since my EFC=0 so I might get it who knows??

TOTAL = 77-81?

I don't know how good my chances will be because last semester's point cut off was 84 so I dont know what kind of applicant pool this semester will have.

I am not sure if I calculated this correctly but these are the points I think I have:

Adjusted GPA:

if 2 grades omitted- 4.0 (50 pts)

all grades included with microbiology in progress- 3.917 (45 pts)

Teas: 84.3% (11pts) I will probably retake it lol

Optional: I believe I qualify for 4/5 options (16 pts)

If I choose to omit the two grades I will have 77 points but if not, I will have 72.

I will definitely need to retake the teas to raise my points!

Hi guys,

I am applying with 83 points.

GPA: 4.0 (not omitting any grades)

TEAS: 88.0%

Optional Criteria: I meet 4/5 of the criteria

Honestly, I am not confident even if people are telling me I can get in. I applied with 79-83 points (79 for sure, 83 so-so)

I have no drops or retakes with 4.0 unadjusted GPA, so hopefully if there's ever a tie, I can be on top of the list. I am hoping to get into the top 10 waitlist (cross-fingers)

Also, does anyone know when the acceptance/denial emails are getting sent out? I'm so anxious; it's hard for me to just sit around and wait LOL.

I think they get sent out at the end of April. I'm with you. The waiting process is difficult!

I think this Friday we should get an email where it states the initial cut off score and will also give us an exact date when the rejection emails & acceptance/waitlist emails will be sent out. Rejection emails are sent out much earlier than the acceptance and waitlist emails. And if we don't get this email on Friday (which is the last Friday of the 1st month after the application due date) then the School of Nursing is technically off schedule and need an additional week to complete the process, so we can expect for sure to get this email the next Friday.

Thank you for posting this. I hope the emails get sent out this Friday. All the waiting is making me anxious.

I agree with you @chimichanga96. Everyone is telling me that I will get in, but its just so unpredictable. I'm not confident and I won't feel that way until I find out what the cut off point is.

Thank you for posting this. I hope the emails get sent out this Friday. All the waiting is making me anxious.

You're welcome. The School of Nursing staff say they work extended hours to bring us this news. :)
