Anyone applying for the Fall 2018 term? I know its still a little early but I am curious what peoples points look like with the new point system. It is completely different than before so I have no idea what to expect.
Yes, it is definitely a scary thought. I did talk to Teri a while back during a group advising session about the applicant pool this semester. She predicts that the point cut off may be around 71 with the new criteria. However, she did emphasize that this number is just her estimate based on past statistics (old criteria) with the average teas scores being 90% and average criteria being 2 out of 4.
I'm excited and nervous. D:
@cmehmi I took the TEAS my first time and I received an 85%. Then I took it the second time, and I got an 85.3%, sadly LOL. My back up plan is finishing my bachelors in Health Science then getting my MSN at Davis. I only applied to Sac State, so if I don't get in, I'm pretty much left with just one option right now. I also see that you commute; I'm planning to commute an hour away, but I'm not so sure if it's a good idea.
I only took it the first time. I got an 88%, so pretty close to your score. That's a good back up plan. I have a friend who didn't get into Sac State's Nursing Program, so she is also planning to get her Bachelors and applying to Davis's Masters entry program. Same, I also only applied to Sac State! Yes, I live an hour away. I am planning to move to Sacramento if I get accepted into the program because I've spoken to a lot of current nursing students in the program and they said an hour away is kind of far. It might not be manageable because clinicals start early in the morning too. One of the students who is in her first semester of the nursing program commutes about an hour away and said she is beyond exhausted and recommends living there, if possible. However, that is definitely your own personal preference, whatever works best for you.
Nice! Great job on your TEAS. Yeah, I totally understand. I actually have an apartment near Sac State right now. The reason I thought about commuting is because of my current roommate situation (we aren't very compatible LOL). I agree that commuting everyday can be exhausting. I just wanted to save some money, but I think I'll end up staying here after all.
