Hopefully, this forum is found by people that are applying to CSULB for Spring 2021. We can share stats, updates, questions, and any other information related to the nursing program. I hope to talk to you all soon!

Thank you for the info! I think the point score is more reassuring than trying to guess what they evaluated us on. My question is how do they award a pass or fail? Do they judge the quality of our answer, and from there it's a pass/fail? Or are they mainly trying to see if we can communicate (correct grammar, no slang, etc...)?

Has anyone else's confidence in getting in taken a nosedive the closer it's gotten to the 3 week line? There's too much time to think!

I feel you on this, too.  I worry about getting bumped down the list because of being a second degree applicant. Illogical, I know... but the anxiety is there nevertheless!

Just got a email asking if I have completed Nutrition. What does this mean?

I am a second degree applicant, foreigner.

Thank you for participating in the Communication Exercise last month. The university will be sending admission decisions in the coming days for those who are transfer or second-bachelor degree applicants. You will receive notice of official admission into the Traditional Basic BSN program from the CSULB School of Nursing after the university has made their decision. Transfer and second-bachelor degree applicants should continue to monitor their email for any university communications. Pre-Nursing applicants will hear directly from the School of Nursing.

 

Additionally, we are requesting your response to poll. We would like to know if you have previously completed a basic nutrition course. This is not a requirement or prerequisite that will affect you admission eligibility. We are simply trying to plan accordingly for the incoming cohort, and would lie to know if you have completed a basic nutrition course. Please complete the poll on Doodle no later than Wednesday, November 4, 2020.

I also just got this email. You just need to answer the poll in the link she provided in the email. Yes means you have taken nutrition course. No means you have not taken a nutrition course.

I got this, too! I think it means that they've punted our applications back to the University to make sure we meet their requirements for transfer/2nd degree applicants... maybe? (Apart from wanting to know if we've taken Nutrition, of course)

I got the email as well and I am pre-nursing at csulb.

I got it too! I wonder if they sent this email to everyone who participated in the exercise?

Oh man! And here I was about to celebrate thinking they are asking me this because I'm already accepted and they just want to prepare the semester schedule for the incoming cohort. 

Guess it's another week.

I don't think being 2nd degree bach will necessarily bump us down. If anything, it'll be quota based, like... 50% of seats are reserved for CSULB pre-nursing students. And then the a certain percentage for non traditional and a few seats for the military people (military service members get +1 point so they should be guaranteed a spot as long as their other markers are similar to us).

OMG guys, I saw the email heading from Nancy Espinosa and almost had a heart attack thinking the decisions were in. I decided to come here first to see if people were celebrating

I just feel like they're messing with us now ? I got the nutrition poll thing too
