Hello everyone!
I couldn't find a thread for the upcoming spring admission, so I thought I should start one. Who is applying to CSULB this upcoming semester for spring 2020? I've finished all my pre-requisites. I just need to take TEAS which I am taking in early June. I would love to hear from other applicants and current CSULB nursing students.
Hope to hear back from you all and good luck :)!

Hello there!
I'll be applying to CSULB for Spring 2020 as well. Sadly this is my second time applying, as I was denied for Fall 2019. However, it was expected because my TEAS score was low, but since then I have retaken it for a better score!
Here are my current stats:
Pre-req gpa: 4.0
Overall gpa: 3.9
TEAS: 85.3% overall
80.9% Reading
I'd really like to retake the teas but they only allow you to take it twice a year so I'll have to wait for next year!

Hey there! Where does it say that they only allow you to take it twice a year?
I'll be applying for Spring too and I'm so nervous!!lol. I calculated my points and I should have a 9.33. I scored 89.3 on the teas (overall) and 83.0 on the reading. I already took it twice this year and I was thinking about retaking it for a higher score but I'm not sure if I can. I know every year the cut off is different so I'm really scared... Good luck to all of you and I hope we all get in!
You can actually take the teas as many times as you want; it just has to be 30 days apart. What I think you meant is that you can only apply to the school twice

Hi there! I had a question concerning AP credit since I got credit for ENG100 from passing the AP English test in high school, but on my unofficial transcripts under the "Points" section, it says 0? Does that mean I received 0 points in my A1 category or does it just say that on the unofficial transcript but the nursing program still count it towards my GPA? If that's the case, I would have a 4.0 for my GE GPA.
My stats are:
Science GPA: 3.705 (3.705 points)
GE GPA: 4.0 (2 points)
Overall TEAS: 90.7% (1.914 points)
Reading TEAS: 95.7% (1.814 points)
That should put me at 9.433 points total. I was also wondering if this is high enough to get in for Spring 2020? Or should I retake the TEAS again to try to get a higher score? Thanks! ?

Hi! I want to apply to the traditional BSN program for Spring 2020, but I don't think I'll get in. I have taken Anatomy 3 times and Microbiology 2 times. My science GPA is a 3.44 (A's in Anatomy and Micro, but B's in Physio and Chem) and my Prereq GE is 3.59. I am retaking my TEAS August 19th. Is it even worth applying? I am bummed about this.

I think it is best to email the school when it comes to ap credit. Beside that, 9.433 is very good and high enough! You can always take the teas again if you want to improve. Good job?

It doesn’t hurt to try. Good luck on your teas! You’ll do great?

Hey guys, I was recently admitted for Fall 2019 at CSULB. The TEAS range for my cohort was 89%-100% and GPA was 3.8+... Most of those admitted had a score of ~ 9.4. It is extremely competitive.
I know it's stressful, but my biggest suggestion is to assume you won't get into any program and just apply to as many as possible. I applied to 5 RN programs: 2 ADN and 3 BSN. It's better to be safe than sorry... If you don't get into a BSN program and have to wait another year to apply, that will be one year you could have already spent in another program. Many ADN programs have bridge/dual-enrollment programs with 4-years to help ADN students get their BSN... Remember that there are many paths to the same goal!
My last piece of advice is that as soon as you finish all your applications, start getting vaccine titers and track your immunization records (MMR, Hep. B, Varicella, Influenza). Also get TB testing if you can. Any program will require you to show proof of all these things. They give you a deadline, but after admission, time flies and it will be one less thing you have on your to-do list (which will be very long) . Best of luck!

Hello everyone,
Has anyone been able to find the application on the website for spring? I know it says cal state apply opens in August, but the SON has its own application, and it’s usually posted under the “application” tab. For some reason, I can’t locate it anywhere. I like to print them off and start gathering the items needed for applying, which is almost here.

Thank you very much for sharing! I will take advantage of getting titers done at my community college this semester
I’ll just respond to my own post. They finally updated the website and offered a sample of the VERY new and different format for the applications to SON (the official one will be available tomorrow). Good luck to everyone!
