Is anyone applying? :) I thought I'd start a thread.

Hi guys I'm in group B at 3pm! See whoever has that time there ! Lol

I talked to monalisa they will be asking people that we're not invited to the interview that had above a 9.0 to be waitlisted anything under she said sorry :/

I'm in group B at 3PM. Later is better for me.

Hi all, this is my first post on allnurses. I've just been searching around here and it looks like a lot of you received an email about a communications exercise (congrats!!). Is anyone who has received this email a second degree student? I am just wondering if perhaps that is why I haven't gotten one.... I've got competitive scores (3.9 GPA in science prereqs, 3.65 GED GPA, 93% on TEAS and 94% on the math section). I was incredibly confused about the second degree application though because it seemed too simple, so I am just wondering if I did it wrong somehow. I was REALLY hoping that I would finally get in but I imagine the communication exercise is something like an interview. Can't get in without that! :(

This year they changed from Math to Reading. When you calculate your score and if it's above 9.15 and you didn't get the email then give her a call to see the reason why. Hope this helps.

Thanks Tony. Yea, my reading score was slightly higher so I would have been above that 9.15 mark. I'll definitely call tomorrow. Has anyone gone in without an appointment to talk to someone? I don't live too far away so I was considering doing that but I wouldn't want to be intrusive.

I'm in Group C at 10:00am too! See you all there!!

Oh cool! I'll see you there! :)

Hey guys so back to the question someone asked earlier, are you more interested in semester or trimester? I'm curious to where you guys stand on this

I'm planning on doing the basic semester because i'm tired of summer school. Haha. I will need that summer break to ease my mind from school and I also have a mandatory training every summer so trimester would interfere with that.

@n_tony I was thinking of the basic semester too! Just because I feel trimester will be too much and I'd definitely need a break lol

I am in group C at 1pm. I am so nervous/excited. Here are my stats:

Science GPA: 4.0

Pre-req GPA: 3.75

OVERALL TEAS score: 88%

TEAS reading score: 92.9%

Overall rating: 9.493

Hey guys!

Sorry I'm posting so late, just added myself to the thread. I noticed a lot of you posting the scores you received, is this based on your own personal calculations or did Monalisa specifically tell you your final score? I'm scheduled for the interview at 2pm for Group B! Little nervous and not sure what to expect. I talked to one nursing student at long beach who said they interview about 120 applicants and accept about 60, which means half of us will be cut. I've also read other forums that say once you get an interview for admitted students and not the waitlist (if you scored above a 9.15) that you have between a 80% and 90% chance of being admitted. Not sure which one to believe. Anybody have any insight on this? Thank you guys and good luck!
