  1. Hey there! I'm applying right now. I'm crossing my fingers! I just graduated this May, but I'm transferring my license from AZ (once I take the NCLEX). I'm really hoping that this takes less time than just going through CA, I've heard it can take ages. I've also heard that most hospitals won't even look at your application if you don't have a current license. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!
  2. Hi all, I'm just a bit late to this conversation, but can anyone tell me where to find the info for the person to address the cover letter to? I only have a name so far and I'm attempting to find a specific person's information. Thanks so much!
  3. Hi Lovefear, I am just curious to know if you ever ended up finding out more information about LA County hospitals, or, even better, started working for one. I have been trying to figure out if Harbor-UCLA has a new grad program but I can't find much information regarding nurse residency programs, only doctoral residency programs. I'd really appreciate it if you could share any insight. Thanks!
  4. Hi mountainsandmangos, I am really trying to reach out to anyone who has gone to the NAU accelerated program. I am trying to see what students feel about it. I don't know if you'll see this, but if you do I'd love to hear if you thought it was a good program and prepared you well enough!
  5. Hi Everyone, I'm not sure if anyone looks at this anymore (or gets notifications) but I am in a quandary. I have been accepted into the ABSN program for this upcoming summer term, and I am committed to going, but I was just accepted to a very highly ranked university (which is 20k more). What I want to know is this: would the students in the program now recommend it? Do you feel supported by the faculty? Do you feel like it is a well organized program and that you will be prepared to become a nurse? I live out of state and haven't been able to visit it yet, but I will in 3 weeks. I am mainly set on going because I like the town and I have heard one recommendation by an old acquaintance. The other school I know has very qualified faculty, a nurses without borders organization associated with it, and has a very high NCLEX pass rate. Does anyone have any thoughts?
  6. Thanks Tony. Yea, my reading score was slightly higher so I would have been above that 9.15 mark. I'll definitely call tomorrow. Has anyone gone in without an appointment to talk to someone? I don't live too far away so I was considering doing that but I wouldn't want to be intrusive.
  7. Hi all, this is my first post on allnurses. I've just been searching around here and it looks like a lot of you received an email about a communications exercise (congrats!!). Is anyone who has received this email a second degree student? I am just wondering if perhaps that is why I haven't gotten one.... I've got competitive scores (3.9 GPA in science prereqs, 3.65 GED GPA, 93% on TEAS and 94% on the math section). I was incredibly confused about the second degree application though because it seemed too simple, so I am just wondering if I did it wrong somehow. I was REALLY hoping that I would finally get in but I imagine the communication exercise is something like an interview. Can't get in without that!
