I was also wondering what other schools you guys applied to. I applied to CSULA, CSUCI, and CSUSM. Considering I got into all of them, I'm having trouble deciding which one I would chose. I currently live in LA but have family in San Marcos. Also I think Channel Islands is my last choice. I just wanna hear what thoughts you guys have on which schools you like.

I'm in OC and staying in the area is a pretty high priority for me (currently working at a hospital I would kill for a spot as a new grad RN at and want to stay within commuting distance) so my net is a little more narrow but I also applied to CSUF, UCI, and UCLA, along with 2-3 ADN programs near me. definitely my top 3 are UCLA, UCI, and CSULB, and I think in that order, but tbh if I got into more than one of those 3 I'd have some serious weighing of pros and cons to do, haha.

tbh I wasn't originally planning on applying to the UCs because of all the extra prereqs, and I thought CSULB would be my first choice up until a couple semesters ago when I decided to start taking some UC prereqs. so I'd still be ecstatic to end up at CSULB and it would definitely soften the blow of not getting into the UCs, because those might have been a stretch, haha.

Wait where can I find those threads I wanna read them

You have to go to the 5th page of the chat but this was from Fall 2022

hmm yeah, this whole communications exercise definitely makes me nervous. a lot of what I found online elsewhere seemed to suggest that if you got invited to it, you're practically as good as in. but CSULB's website says that around 120 applicants get invited to the comms exercise, and they definitely don't admit that many students.

tbh I think that what the fall 2022 applicants were speculating seems likely, that we're already ranked among the top 120 applicants and the exercise is just a pass/fail. If that's the case, I guess the applicants in the top 80 or so just need to not fail, whereas the bottom 40 will probably only move up in the rankings if they pass AND people above them fail? but there's no way to know where we fall on that list going in.

Hi! Congrats on all the acceptances!! You already hear back from CSULA admissions? I haven't heard anything back yet ahhhhh. I also applied to CSULA, along with CSUF, CSULB, and SDSU.

I also read that you're either admitted or placed on an alternate list so I wouldn't worry too much unless you suddenly forget how to speak English. Just be yourself! (This is what I'm telling myself)

Nothing from CSULA and I wasn't able to find if there's an interview do you know if there is? Also I think I did something wrong on my SDSU app cause on my portal it says pre-nursing as my major and there was no supplemental app. Did any of that happen with you?

I love how we're all the same personality type to freak out over an interview where we literally just have to talk. After all the hard work we've put in we're gonna be just fine

Ohh did you mean "considering I get into all of them" and not "got" lakjdkflsj. I thought you already heard back from them! And yeah I don't think CSULA has an interview and on my SDSU portal, it also says pre-nursing so we're chilling. But for your CSULA portal does it say "incomplete" or "complete" as your status? Because mine says incomplete?

Yeah no CSULB is the only one I've really heard from. I was just wondering how the heck you chose which one to go to. Mine also says incomplete and for one of the other schools it said it will say incomplete until you're offered acceptance. I've been navigating this all by myself and too scared to ask any questions to admissions so thanks for getting back to me. Also I literally thought I wasn't goi g to get into any schools based off of what I read and how competitive it is but since I got the email from CSULB I actually got my hopes up

Something I noticed from reading a previous forum is that sometimes applicants can be re-interviewed again? I think there is an impaction cut-off score also. I could see the exercise being pass/fail, but I've also seen others say it's mainly to determine how well your English is? I have no idea.

Besides CSULB, I applied to CSULA, LACCONAH, and GCC (their application hasn't opened yet, but I do plan to apply haha.) I applied to a bunch of Cal States because I was willing to relocate, but now I am not LOL. LACCONAH and GCC are huge contenders for me because I can work after two years, and CSULA is also amazing because of the location. CSULB isn't off my radar because that NCLEX pass rate is really pretty haha!

No one has heard back yet right?
