I'm surprised that no one else has started a thread about CSU Long Beach's nursing interview for Fall 2011! The Interviews begin next week and isn't anyone out there as nervous as I am! I live in Norcal so the long drive down to Long Beach, will hopefully be well worth it!
I have only gathered small bits and pieces of information about the interview for CSULB and if you guys would like to share what you know with me; that would help a lot.
I think about 1/4 of the applicants will be selected to be interviewed. This year I'm not sure, I'm going to call and ask Monalisa on Monday and let you guys know. But last year, it was 110 people got interviewed, and only 90 were selected..the other 20 probably were alternates.
Don't sweat it..Uhm...mrgaylordfocker...haha sorry your name is quite unique. If you can communicate well, and be a bit relaxed I'm sure you'll do fine. However, when you do have your interview keep us posted about it! It's just a small group interview with a movie write-up and a small activity that will take up an hour. So, these activities won't last more than 20 minutes each!
Haha its from the movie meet the parents, where ben stiller (gaylord focker in the movie) played a male nurse. He is constantly ridiculed throughout the movie for being a murse
Anyway I will definately let you know how it goes. Suprisingly im not too stressed about it. Thanks for the advice.
Did they tell everyone if they were alternates or not over the phone or is that something you guys had to ask about?
From what I heard other people saying, Monalisa would let you know if you ask about your ranking. I would give her a call in the morning before you go to the interviews. But I'm guessing I'm going to be an alternate from how I calculated my criterion score and basing it on the Fall 2010 ranking.
I'll ask her about how many interviewees and the percentage of people they will accept. I'll keep you posted tomorrow morning, or you could possibly ask her at the nursing interview. That's good that you got more relaxed mrgaylordfocker, haha I remember that movie. I remember the family wanted to name their son after him but then they saw his name.
