  1. At orientation you will be split into groups. Half of you will have a full day tomorrow and a half day wednesday, the other half will have a half day tomorrow and a full day wednesday. You'll start off the day by hearing a couple of professors (youll probably get an assignment or two)/the dean/and the CNSA members talk...then youll go to different "stations" where you will get your badge photo taken, get fitted/order your scrubs, buy different things (stethescopes, bags, sweaters, N206 supply bag, etc), and a couple others where they talk to you about joining different things. After all this we went to lunch, came back and heard a little more from the CNSA members/professors, had a raffle for scrubs, starbucks gift cards, bags, etc. The half that had the longer day went to the library to learn some stuff about the SDSU library/computer searches. I'm not sure if they will have you guys do thsi again because a lot of people complained about it being a waste of time and we didn't learn too much. But considering you guys still have a 2 day orientation I'm thinking you will. Next day consisted of a presentation by an ATI testing company for their product. It was "mandatory" for us to purchase this for $176 bucks. Again, i'm not 100% sure if they will have you do this because we were asked to do a survey as to whether or not it was worth it, and a lot of people did not feel it was (we were given a few extra credit points for completing several assignments). Those that had already went to the library get to go home, the other group goes to the library.
  2. Did you take the TEAS at SDSU? If so you don't have to send it through their website. If not, i'm not 100% sure but I believe you need to send it officially. Call the SON and ask or just send it anyway and be safe. If I was in your position, I would hate to be denied because I didn't shell out 25 bucks.
  3. Hey guys hows it going? I'm about to enter my 2nd semester of the program so if you have any questions about the first semester i'm more than happy to help. Not too much longer till we start back up so like Coriander suggested, enjoy the time off while you can
  4. wow! glad i decided to check this thread before getting some sleep. until now i thought we were meeting at the ah courtyard to sign in. on the nursing website it says : "new student undergraduate mandatory orientation dates: tuesday & wednesday, august 23, and 24th, 2011 sign-in: 0745 program : 0800-1600 place: adams humanities (ah) courtyard parking on campus requires a permit attn: n206 & 208 repeaters mandatory attendance at orientation on tuesday, august 23 & wednesday, august 24th sign in tuesday @ 0745 ht 140 sign wednesday @ 0745 in al 102" because i'm not a 206/208 repeater i just glossed over that section and didn't catch the last part about sign ins. hopefully no one else did this lol.
  5. Im guessing after tomorrow this thread will start to die, so thank you for being so helpful throughout this entire thread!
  6. I went to the bookstore and asked them this question and they told me they dont know why it offers a used version online but they only sell new codes (325 dollars). From my understanding, you are paying for a subscription and the bookstore is more expensive than the nursing central website because it includes access for the length of the nursing program, whereas the website purchase wouldn't be for as long. (a year?)
  7. Can someone explain to me how the clinical process works? I have my schedule all worked out but someone in the nursing program at san marcos told me that even though I go to school 4 days a week, i'll probably have clinicals on 2 of my "days off" How long do clinicals last and how many x per week do we attend? I was under the impression that the clinicals were apart of our lab schedule, but now I am second guessing that.
  8. Is this referring to the nursing program orientation or transfer student orientation? I schedule my transfer orientation on the earliest date possible (August 9 I believe) so I can register the next day, but on August 11th the orientation schedule said it will only be nursing/some other public health program so I think it might be more detailed/helpful for nursing students and not as general as the August 9th date. Should I change it?
  9. To those who were accepted into the fall program, are you going to be attending New student/transfer orientation AS WELL AS the school of nursing orientation?
  10. I think sdsu accepts 180 but not 100% sure. What are your stats?
  11. thanks....my stats are: Science prerequisites: 4.0 GE prerequisites: 3.7 Teas score: 91.2 Math score: 91 Good luck... I still need to get ahold of mona lisa so hopefully one of you will get a call tomorrow saying you got my spot
  12. I got a call today as well. Tried to call ---- back but didn't get an answer/machine. I got into SDSU and will be attending there instead, so hopefully one of you guys that didn't get a call back take my spot! Good luck
  13. How much is NU per semester? Can someone who has been quoted or whatever let me know?
  14. Haha thanks! Love the movie so had to do it. I worked as an EMT
  15. Does anyone have any idea how much it costs to start up? I heard buying books/uniform/other stuff at orientation can be pretty costly, anyone know a link or anything to the actual numbers?
