CSULB Fall 2014

Published

Hey everyone!

Did anyone else apply to CSULB for Fall 2014? The school app was due last Saturday, and then we have the month of January to submit for the School of Nursing.

Based on previous threads, it looks like we are invited to an interview about a month after the deadline, and the cutoff was ~9.1 points.

Here are my stats so we can see how we stand this year!

Science GPA: 3.58

GE GPA: 3.77

TEAS: 97.3

TEAS Math: 100

I think that works out to about 9.4 points... the average keeps rising each year, so it would be nice to see where we all fall!

Good luck everyone :)

@glencoco No mention of orientation yet. Also, I'm assuming that only those offered admission are allowed to activate a MyCSULB account which may explain your other problem. Good luck to you as well.

@kailee Did they mention the date of the orientation in June? I'm just wondering because I'm an alternate but I'm trying to go somewhere in June, but don't want to potentially miss the orientation date.

The email I received was from the admissions department of csulb, not the son. It didn't say any date regarding orientation. It just said that we have to send transcripts and accept/decline admission by June 1st

Is the date strictly enforced? I meant for those official transcripts. Expedited it is whenever classes in progress shows up on system.

it did not say a specific date but it said within 30 days of the notice, which for me would be roughly April 23rd

Great... Got.my acceptance letter from CSULA. But the director at CSULB says i will definitely get in spring 15 when micro is done... Do i turn down my acceptance? Oi!!!

@glencoco i made it on the alternate list as well. I called the SON a couple weeks ago and monalisa said the orientation would be either the first or second Friday of June...

hey sakakaka, thanks for posting that. I called the nursing office last Tuesday and they said they haven't set the orientation yet but I suppose they have a couple dates in mind. Were you able to ask Monalisa about where you are on the alternate list or how probable it is that alternates get in?

I did ask what my status was and was surprised when she told me. I am number three on the list... She then told me there was not much else information left to tell me. I'm assuming the SON sent out acceptance letters to 72 students (that's how many they accept right?) and of those 72 students who accept or decline will determine if the alternates get in or not. So if one student declines, number one on the alternate list gets in... And so on. That's just my thoughts though... Hope that helps!

Ahh you will definitely get in I think! I emailed her to see where I am but I'll try to call her. Thanks again!

Ahh I just called her and I'm #9 on the list!! Fingers crossed! She also said the orientation might be the second Friday of June if that helps anyone

Awesome!

You might have discussed this on this thread already but did you make a "myCSULB" account? I wasn't able to activate an account and I was thinking this was due to me not being accepted to the school yet... Any help?

Just kidding... I re read the thread and you guys discussed this. I guess us alternates have to wait to be accepted to the program, and then we can activate our account!
