CSULB Fall 2012 BSN

U.S.A. California

Hi!

I think the CSULB School of nursing recently post new pool statistics including those who were chosen for Fall 2011.

Knowing that the rating average is 8.91/10, that seems like a huge difference than the previous semesters!

Anyone else planning to apply to CSULB Fall 2012 BSN program?

I am a Kaiser patient as well and my school (Saddleback College) won't even let me get the Rubella or Hep B surface Ab titer because I am not in the nursing program there... I hope we can find an alternative to Accesa because it is super expensive, $140!!! For two darn tests... Please post on here if you find any cheap alternatives! I am trying to find one but have had no success :(

I thought we were finding out about CPR certification at orientation? Or should we get it done sooner? I have finals next week so I've been kinda taking a break from all the prep for CSULB..

By the way, does anyone know if there is a deadline to accept the stafford loans that we were offered via CSULB financial aid?

I work for Kaiser so I'll ask around tomorrow if there's ANY WAY the docs can place an order for our titers to provide the quantitative data they want and I'll let you know. Did you guys already get offered a final amount for financial aid? Mine still says it's pending and has only given me an estimate of what I could be offered! :uhoh3:

Just got an email confirming my transfer credit evaluation and it's a bit confusing. They even have 2 different GPA's listed, not sure which one they will use. Does anyone know who we can make an appointment with to speak to regarding exactly what transfers over an staying in track for graduation? Or do we just wait until orientation (sure wish it'd hurry up and come. I feel like I have so much anxiety regarding all my unanswered questions.)

BTW- to those who have enrolled in it plan to enroll in nutrition at Pasadena, the school transfers it over as Nutrition 132 and it says per my evaluation that Nutrition 339 would satisfy that requirement. I know that some people said they spoke with MW and that it would transfer. It sure would be nice to have something definite in writing. Even for those of you who have registered for it at other places. I'd hate for it to be for no reason. So if she says it WILL transfer does she communicate with the school for them to change it?!?

Also I'm completely overwhelmed by the "Health List of To Do's" for the program AND I am also currently uninsured. Any I go would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I went to Rio Hondo College for physical and immunizations. As I was not currently enrolled the college, I had to pay extra money. Physical was $60. Each shot was $40. I spent about $300 for all reqirements.

In Cypress College, if you are enrolled a class, everything is free (physical and immunization). Maybe you can take one class such as PE. This maybe the cheapest way.

Hey guys, I'm a little confused. If I don't have a copy of any of my immunization records (except Tdap), will the titers suffice? Some papers say we need proof of both and another one says not to get the vaccine but do the titers first to see if we already have immunity.

And did everyone find that those instructions for the certified background and Magnus Health Portal aren't right?!?! I'm stuck at a part on Magnus where it says, "Please select your tracker for California State Universityt-Long Beach (Nursing) to continue" but there's a million options!!

You choose "New Student Orientation Health Tracker." :)

You choose "New Student Orientation Health Tracker." :)

Haha thanks I figured that out after staring at the screen for a while. I think all this stress of completing forms and not knowing final costs just has me dumb-founded! Not to mention finals coming up in a week for me :uhoh3:

Has anyone uploaded their DL to magnus yet? It then says to answer the "test question" about DL expiration date..... I cannot find that anywhere! Am I totally blind?!

Don't worry. The instruction is old. Just upload with expiraration date file name.

I uploaded last Fiday. I got proved it by school today.

By the way, has any one uploaded other materials too? (physical exam, immunizations)

hey everyone! I'm alittle confused about what we need done by orientation day :/ I ordered the background check and I just created a magnus account

@Dr. Choco so far I've only uploaded my driver's license

Jonathan- that's all you have to have completed by orientation. But, you should start figuring out all of your vaccination stuff now, b/c it all has to be done by the end of July. So just start working on asap!

Thanks for the heads up! :)
